It's several things. One, when I discovered that NissanMotorsports was offering linear springs ment for the Z, I also discovered the membername of a Z owner running them. He told me that BJ at 350EVO should know the spring rates, which tipped me off that their could be a working relationship between 350EVO and NissanMotorsports. Then, the Nismo bars have the same specs as the EVO bars and most telling is that special rear bar shape unique to the EVO bars. And theirs this thread, notice Jmark's post, then BJ's post right after it. http://www.my350z.com/forum/showthre...hreadid=103748

Like me, GSedan35 has the 350Z springs and shocks. Thanks to his time and hard work he measured about a 1" drop on the sedan. He also measured that the spring rate of the 350Z springs, G35 Sedan sport springs, and the G35 coupe springs all have the same spring rate, just different heights. IIRC the rates are around 5.6kg front and 6.1kg rear.

In spite of differing ride heights, oem 350Z, oem G35 coupe and oem G35 sedan (sport suspension) springs are all the same spring rates. Nissan did this by adjusting the wire diameter of the springs, number of active coils and slight changes in their outside diameter, all things that effect spring rate.

Oem 350Z springs will lower the sedan 1", they will lower a coupe 1/2".

Oem 2003* 350Z shocks are a lot stiffer then oem shocks run on the G coupe (not talking about a 2005 coupe with a sport suspension of course) or the oem shocks on a sedan with the sport suspension. 2004+ Z's have a revised suspension, trading some shock stiffness for increased ride comfort.

*They do have a issue with ride quality concerning bounce and porposing on the freeway, something that the revised 2004 Z suspension made better or eliminated depending on who you talk to.

350EVO Rear Bar

Can anyone please post a pic of the rear EVO bar installed on the car???
(Yeah...I know it's under the car and dark)
It seems to me like it would be really low since it goes under the exhaust....??

I'll see what I can do, I don't have a digital cam. I know I won't be able to take a pic today however.

Thank you!
Any pics showing placement would be appreciated.
I should be ok.....I have an aftermarket Y pipe...stock B pipe...and Greddy Rear muffler.
Stock B pipe is on stock exhaust hanger...but it sure looks low.. for the sway bar to have to go underneath it.......???

Yes, the rear 350 Evo does go underneath the exhaust because of the symetrical design. Took me a bit to figure out that too when I was installing the bad boy.

Don't worry about it being too low unless your car is dropped significantly.

So, if I already have the 2005 Coupe with the 19" OEM wheels, can I still benefit from the use of aftermarket sway bars?

I was really thinking about getting some.

I picked up a set of the NISMO sway bars a good while before taking delivery of my '05 6MT and finding out that they increased the size of the OEM pieces. Anyone know how these compare to the NISMO ones? Are the OEM now close enough to the NISMO's that installing them would be a waste? Like I said, I have them and the install won't be much, so a minimal imporvement would likely be worth it at this point.

The Nismo bars are 18% stiffer in the front and 1.4% stiffer in the rear compared to the original oem sway bars. Since the revised sway bars got thicker, that means the Nismo bars are < 18% stiffer in front and < 1.4% stiffer in the rear compared to the revised oem bas. Add that to the fact that they are non-adjustable and I really don't see why someone would choose this set. Just not worth it.

I have reason to believe that oem 05 coupe front bars on cars with oem 19's are very close to the same stiffness as the Nismo front bar. In any event, you are MUCH better served with a bar set that is adjustable. It makes no sense to install a non adjustable sway bar system as a upgrade. Sway bars should be used to fine to a already well dialed in car to change or shape the car's at the limit balance to suit your setup and driving style, fixed bars do NOT do that.
