Sway Bars: G35C 6MT vs. 350Z vs. Nismo

Does anyone know how these sway bars compare in "feel" and diameter: G35 6MT Coupe, 350Z and Nismo? I'm talking front and rear. Thanks!

The following cars have the same identical oem sway bars.

2003-2005 350Z
2003-2005 coupes with 18" sized oem alloys or smaller
2003-2004 sedans (early non sport sedan's might have smaller bars)

This is how Nismo sway bar set compairs to the above cars

Front: +18%
Rear: +1.4%

The following cars have seen a increase in oem bar strength
2005 sedans
2005 coupes with the sport suspension (19" alloys)

Remember, the Nismo bars are NOT adjustable. Sway bars are ment to be used to fine tune a car to suit YOU and how you like the car to behave at the limit. Frankly their are better choices out their and for less money too.

Here's a list of all the known sway bars you can buy and all known specs.

Nismo sway bars
Front 36mm (hollow core design, like the stock bar)
Rear 22mm (hollow core design)
.

Cusco sway bars
35mm front solid, not hollow
22mm rear solid, not hollow
Front sway bar has two settings of 20% and 37% stiffer then stock
Rear sway bar is 73% stiffer then stock.

Stillen 5-way adjustable bars
35mm front hollow 22mm rear hollow (converting from 1 3/8" & 7/8")
Claimed adjustment range 7% to 70% (unknown if both front and rear bars
have the same full 7% to 70% range)

Mines Sway bars
Front 20% stiffer rear 30% stiffer
$699.00(OUCH!)

Eibach specs from Eibach.com
34mm hollow front 22mm hollow rear
Front bar is 2-way adjustable, rear bar is 3-way adjustable

350EVO Sway bars 3-way adjustable front and rear
34mm front and 23mm rear solid bar construction, not hollow.
Front bar
middle adjustment 11% stiffer
stiff adjustment 33% stiffer

Rear bar (the rear bar specs below are not accurate, as EVO350 upped the rear bar to 24mm for production, they never published new specs for the new thicker bar. Of note is the fact that their rear bar does not have the curve for the oem exhaust pipe, it routes below the exhaust in a straight line, something that further benefits rigidity
middle adjustment 25% stiffer
stiff adjustment 53% stiffer
Sway bar sets include front and rear bars, greasable bushings,
and brackets.

Hotchkis Sway bars
Front 1 3/8" (35MM) Hollow (Bar Weight 13.5lbs)
3 Position Adjustable
Rate Increase over stock
+9%,+32%,+63%

Rear 15/16"(24mm) Hollow (bar weight 5.5lbs)
3 Position Adjustable

Thank you! A response like that is worth its weight in gold! Do you know if the adjustable Nismo sways are identical in diameter to the standard Nismo sways? Comment: I've also read that a good sway bar needs a collar and polyurethane bushings; and that adjustable bars should have rod-end links. Base on your comments and other posts here and on my350z.com, I'm currently leading toword adjustable Nismo, Stillen or 350EVO sway bars. Thanks, again!

Today I installed 350evo rear on sedan.
Package included polyurethane bushings and collars, I used stock endlinks. If you're going to DIY, pay somebody to use their lift

The rear has stiffened up quite a bit. Major handling improvement though.

Currently runnig medium setting which demotrates excellent turn-in and mildest oversteer that I absolutely missed in that car. Makes me really want a clutch-type diff now.

I wasn't sure if I needed both sways after seeing the size of the stock front one and 350evo is the only offering where you can buy separate bars.

The Nismo adjustable sway bars are in fact relabeled EVO350 bars. IMO, the Nismo adjustable end links are not priced within reason. I would explore way's to accomplish the same thing on your own. I saw a thread on one of the Z forums (can't remember where, I don't think if was my350z) that laid out a few good tips on how to make your own.

Really? Wow, care to divulge how you found that out? Just goes to show you how good the 350EVO bars are.

No problem. I have my rear set at the medium setting as well and I think the slight hint of oversteer on harder cornering is nice and predictable. I didn't like the stiffest setting as that was way too twitchy. Maybe one day I'll get the front 350Evo bar and experiment a bit with the settings like med front, and full stiff rear and see what that does. But for now I'm happy.

I might just switch to polyurethane bushings in the front to obtain same level of crispness and call it a day. Those things make a wolrd of difference.

Agreed. If I wasn't as sensitive, I'd have my suspension bushings all replaced with polyurethane as well.

Guys,
I was considering just ordering the 350 evo Rear bar for my coupe....
I have upped my tire sizes to 245f & 275r.
I keep hearing that the stock front bar is pretty beefy.
Would just the rear bar be a major improvement over stock??

Yes, I would say so just for the shear fact that the 350 evo rear bar is adjustable so you can set it to where YOU like it. Another plus is that it uses poly bushings and collars to prevent sway bar movement.

Gsedan35, I see you've got 350Z springs. How much did they lower your car, and how much stiffer are they then the G35 Sedan and Coupe springs?
