Help!! Squealing suspension when car is driving

Hey guys.

Recently I have been hearing a squealing noise that sounds like its coming somewhere in my rear left suspension. At first it was only there within a few minutes of driving at startup but now the squealing noise is unbearable while driving. Anyone had this problem or know what it is?
Thanks in advance

Could be worn brake pad.

Take out the caliper slide pin bolts and inspect for corrosion/damage or lack of lubrication. Another area to check is your brake hose for damage or your caliper piston could be sticking from bad seals/boots. Either buy a caliper rebuild kit or just buy a remanufactured caliper. If your piston is rusted or in rough condition just buy another caliper.

It would not hurt to take your brakes apart to clean and re-lubricate. Remember to use silicon or a synthetic brake lube like permatex for the slide pins/boots. Use the FSM for proper torque specs and grease points.

I was thinking it might be brake pads but I'm not sure, it doesn't squeal when I press the brakes or go over 20 mph

Depending on your wheels you can look in there and see how much pad is left. Once they get down to 2mm its time to change. Don't forget if you change one side, do the other.

I would jack up the car and leave it in neutral. Take the wheel off and spin the rotor to see whats going on. Don't forget about safety and chalking the other wheels

Glad I don't have a right coast attitude ^ !!

If it is brake pads and you drive with it making that squealing noise chances are you'll also need new rotors! Everyone should check brake pads/ tire pressure and fluid levels when doing or having an oil change done. You can also check your tires for uneven wear and spot a nail before your sensors go off. State of California it's requied the mechanic check tire pressure while doing an oil change, not a bad idea...Gary

Most times rotors can be resurfaced depending on thickness and condition. Either way every time pads are changed you need to have the rotors resurfaced or replace them.

I had the same issue. Apparently it was my inner dust shield behind the rotor touching my rotor. Took me 10 seconds to bend it back out . Problem solved. Hope this helps!
