sway bar install problem.. HELP

i recently bought the hotchkis sway bars. after removing the sway bars and lubing the bushings, i read the next step was to put the new sway bars on but part of that included BENDING a METAL tab to allow the ends of the hotchkis to fit. how on earth do you bend this tab?

This is why I bought the Stillen sway bars, they fit exactly. I think the tab
they refer to is on the end link. I would guess you would take a vice grip
wrench and bend it that way. Someone who has the Hotchkis will need to
confirm. I feel your pain dude! Good luck. The rear sway bar upgrade is well
worth it BTW.

I didn't bend any metal tab to make mine fit. What metal tab are you talking about? It should be an exact fit for your car.

There are full color instructions here with pics:

I also don't remember bending the tab.

i bent a tab on both sides. vice grip does it easily. it will be self-explanatory once you get to that point and it should be included in the install instructions...

It could be the metal tab on the bolt at the end link. I just rotated mine so that it fits into one of the other bolt holes in the sway bar. The spacing for the bolt holes fits just right for that tab. This is the only tab I could remember when I installed mine. Good luck.

Geez you guys were up early!

Later,

Ray

The time stamps on this board are not realistic. I posted my earlier post this morning in the Houston area,
which is U.S. Central time zone. The time in Houston at the moment is 1:28 pm. Check out the time stuck on this post.
What is going on here?
Six hours difference!

you dont have to bend the end link tabs. i had my friend install mine and he followed the instructions and bent my endlinks.

a couple months down the road, i helped install racerx35's sways and we just swiveled the end link tab to fit in the adjacent hole (like he said). after doing that, i lifted my car up, took off my front sway and bent my links back to factory and installed them the same way =).

My Eibachs were really easy. Hotch says you dont have to take apart the exhaust to install theirs, but I bet you will have too.

Yeah,

g4s and I had to dismantle some of the exhaust. But it was a minor time consumer, like an extra 5-10 minutes.

According to Q45Tech, our G35 front bar is WAY stiff and does not need
to be upgraded. It's the rear bar that makes the difference. So if you buy
both bars, set the front to the lightest setting, the rear should go medium
or stiff. I have my front at the softest setting, around 7% stiffer than stock.
My rear bar is set at the stiffest setting, around 70% stiffer than stock.
She handles great!
