Need some rotor recommendations...

Hey guys so I've done some research on brakes. I came to the conclusion that I don't need drilled/ slotted for daily driving.

The break pads I will be going with are Akebono

But for the rotors... All I have found were talks about drilled and slotted. Since I won't be going that router what brand and line do you guys think is a good match?

Centric? NAPA ultra premium? EBC

Would love to hear your personal opinions and experiences!!

Z1's are pretty sweet, dunno if they offer non slotted. Nothing wrong with just getting some slots, I steer away from drilled rotors. If those don't work with you, I had no issues with EBC rotors for a long time. Good luck.

I wouldn't install anything but DBAs, had mine for over 40K miles and they were turned once when I installed new Hawk pads. They last a long time, increase pad life because they run cool. Available from our Marketplace under vendor brakes...Gary

Centric rotors here, they work great! Centric pads though - NOPE.

Centric Hi-Carbon series with either Akebono Pro-ACT or Centric Posi-Quiet Ceramic pads for regular street driving and occasional spirited back road driving.

Centric is the OEM manufacturer of many "performance" brands, including powerslot and stoptech. They also have many different pad compounds, the "Posi-Quiet Ceramic" has great initial bite, low dust, and held up to a week of Tail of the Dragon mountain runs just fine. Probably not up for track duty but you're not looking for a hi-performance pad anyway. Most of the other Centric pads fall into the "economy" category, so avoid.

I've used Centric rotors and Akebono pads for years. Have also used Carbotech Bobcat compound pads, and recently switched to the Centric pads.

Thank you guys!! Definitely appreciate it! Now I'm shopping around to see where I can score the best deals. I'll PM our vendors in the near future as well.

I know a lot of guys here running the Centric blanks. The R1 Concept's premium blanks are good as well.

Vented Brembos for rotors

EBC Redstuff pads for street (ceramic)
EBC Yellowstuff pads for track (smi-metallic, make wheels dirty)

Not a huge difference between pads on the street. I think the yellows do bite a little harder, but also dirty up the wheels pretty good. Their real advantage is 0 brake fade, but you'll have be doing a whole lot of braking for that to matter (mountains/track)

Centric Blanks here.

For pads I went with OEM (I have the better 05+ brakes). I ran the Akebono ACT's for one set and wasn't a fan. They really chewed up my rotor. Since I replace rotors each brake job anyway it didn't matter. Went back to OEM because I like the initial bite when cold.
