Thumping Sound Coming From Rear Passenger Suspension

The noise only happens when I go over bumps and i've been told by friends that my car is very bouncy in the rear. I've already replaced all control arms and bushings in the rear. I'm thinking it may be the springs shocks or struts. Thoughts? It's a 2005 Coupe if that helps.

Bouncy like harsh bouncy like stiff suspension? Or bouncy like a caddy that keeps bouncing a 1/4 mi after the bump?

Typically a thud noise means 1 of 2 things, bad bushing or bad shock. If its bouncy it could be a bad shock and your spring is doing all the work.

Hello, McFly, he posted a 2005 coupe............

Being a 12 year old car my guess is shocks are worn out, especially since bushings and arms have been replaced.

Replace shocks and shock mounts. 11 year old car, they're toast by now. Most people seem to wait until shocks completely blow out (like it seems yours have) before replacing them, instead of preventative maintenance.

Dangit! I'm betting it's the shocks too. I put on the Tokicos and was very impressed with the ride quality upgrade.
