replacing OEM "red" shocks on a G/Z spring sedan?
My 04 6MT sedan is in need of new shocks. Currently running the red "sport" shocks with a G/Z combo. There's a vortech up front so that adds about 90lbs to the front end. The 1" drop I achieved with the G/Z combo is as low as I want to go. I want to maintain the OEM ride quality, but make it slightly more firm (my OEM shocks have 100,000 miles on them, si I'm sure some of the soft ride is a consequence of that).
I've been doing some reading on the forum and getting conflicting info about how replacing shocks can affect drop. I don't think it can, as suspension height is dictated by springs, not shocks/struts.
Tokico makes the OEM shocks, so I'm leaning toward the Tokico blues (for the G coupe). But....
...yes or no: will those shocks affect the suspension height? and will they be adequate for a sedan for a heavier front end?
