Vehicle Weight
Re: Vehicle Weight
My driving's not good enough to worry about 40lbs. If it were, I'd need to worry about the 20lb spare gut I'm carrying around, too.

Re: Vehicle Weight
Having taken out the spare, I didn't see much if any acceleration increase. I suppose 30-40 lbs sprung isn't much, especially when you're removing it from directly above the rear wheels. I'd say removing 20 pounds from the driver is more effective than removing the spare.
Hey, since we're on the subject, I may as well ask: does it make sense to alter your tire pressure on the driverside rear tire vs. passengerside? If you're driving alone, you've got around 200 pounds more on the left side of the car. Even with your best girl along, you're still heavier on the left. Er, hopefully. Well, this is getting a bit sexist, but you get the general idea. It's not a small amount of weight. We'd be freaking out if each of our wheels were 15 pounds heavier than standard, let alone 50.

Re: Vehicle Weight
Hey Yoda, I am actually 6’ 200lb x-semi pro ball player. I don’t need to loose any weight. I am considering buying a G35 coupe or sedan in the next few weeks and had a few questions that I though the forum could answer as my dealer is clueless. I don’t know about you, but I would like to know as much as possible about the car that I am going to purchase and drive. I currently own and personally modify three other cars: 1987 Mustang LX 5.0L coupe (e/t 11:40’s @ 118 mph w/o Nos), 1997 Mazda Miata (e/t 15:30 @ 94 mph) and a 2000 Saturn LS2 V6 (e/t 15:50 @ 92 mph). I have been looking at the Mitsubishi EVO VII, Acura TLS and several other 4-dr performance cars. I have contacted Infiniti’s tech line and they said they would have a specialist return my call. As of today, I have not received any information? Thanks Joe

Re: Vehicle Weight
It's not just Infiniti, I've noticed that other coupe/sedan siblings have that same odd coupe-is-strangely-heavier syndrome. If that "specialist" does call you back, please share.
