Blitz Coilovers?

I've been looking for coilovers for my g35 sedan I want something like Tein CS or Bilstein pss9 or 10

but these blitz coilovers seem pretty legit for 800$

I want something comfortable and slightly lower than stock maybe an inch max. I drive on B roads often.
Would BC racing coilovers be too harsh?

are you working with a budget? PSS9 and PSS10 has nearly a thousand dollar price difference. PSS10 for sure of all the suspension you have named. Progressive springs on that makes it very comfortable to DD on but loads up quickly once you drive hard.

I'm not familiar with blitz, but if it is made in taiwan, you just toss it in with the rest of the $800-1000 taiwanese suspension ie megan racing, bc racing, d2, ksport etc...

bc racing is generally not damped very well and is just super stiff due to the lack of R&D. they take the same shock and redesign mounts to fit other cars and unfortunately, suspension is not one size fits all. in short, just stay away from it.

Here's some recommendations for you depending on what budget you're working with.

$1000 and below - Tein flex z($800), or tein basis z($480) if you're not going to bother spending time on tuning the damper. ride is not harsh on these, slightly more firm than OEM sport suspension, but not jarring.

$1000-$2000 - HKS Hipermax IV GT ($1650)- very well valved dampers and spring rates are not overly aggresive or too track focused. the GT are great on the streets and occasional canyon carving. the SP model runs quite high springs rates, 14k front and 16k rear iirc and would not be ideal for a daily driver. the SP hurts your back if the road is not smooth, i have experience driving and riding on these coilovers.

blitz

blitz is a Japanese company
https://www.blitz.co.jp/products/products_e.html

I was just wondering if anyone had heard of them at all , so thats not a good sign . No reviews and no one heard of them.

Thanks for the reply btw, and about the BC coilovers thats what I thought I agree with what you said.

I want to spend about 1500$ but would like to spend less of course
I know bilstein and tein both have a good record. So Ill probably decide between those two brands, but which model is the question. I have heard the tein street basis is good for the price but the one thing I don't like is it re-uses the stock strut mounts. No pillow ball mount. I should have said in the OP that I want to get a coilover with the pillow mount or atleast with mounts included since I will save on labor that way.
If I buy the street basis for 522$ then I gotta pay labor or my time doing it and renting a tool, which could be another 300$ at the mechanic or who knows how many hours of me trying to do it on the street somewhere since I don't have a garage.

So then I'm in the 900$ range which puts me pretty close to nice coilovers. also I hear good things about the pillow ball mount and my current strut mounts make a squeak noise so I want to get the pillow ball mount or atleast new strut mounts as well so there is that

what do you think about the pillow ball mounts are they worth it ? make the ride stiffer less comfortable?

I know blitz as a company, but what I meant was that I am not familiar with their suspension products, sorry for not being clear.

Sounds like you'll need to bring this to a shop either way for installation so you aren't wrenching in the street, is that correct? with a $1500 budget including installation, that really brings you down to the $1000 price range. My money goes to Tein for their Flex Z. It comes with with top mounts and you can just mount them up yourself. That way you still got money left over for alignment components.

If my assumption was incorrect, and you plan to DIY the install as long as the suspension has top mounts included, then i say HKS Hipermax GT all the way for $1650. the suspension comes preset so that your car is corner balanced (without driver)...how awesome is that!?

I personally have the street basis z and Its a great replacement suspension over OEM Sport package and also a great suspension for DD/back road carving, but it isn't even close to being track worthy. However, for $480, I can't really complain.

I really dont have an opinion on pillowball vs OEM top hats, I've ridden in cars with both and the ride quality is way more dependent on the dampers vs the type of mount they are on.

Hope all that info helps!

Yea I am planning to DIY if I get the expensive coilovers to save money, and because the hardest part of changing struts is the spring part. which I wouldn't have to do if I got a full coilover.

I eventually want to do a few mods to my car but I have made poor decisions with mods in the past like getting kyb struts lol. cheap parts dont make sense usually.

Do you really think the HKS hipermax GT is worth the extra 1000$ compared to the street basis z?

My car isn't going to see a track any time soon, and I definitely need to upgrade the brakes before I did any track stuff. I drive mostly on bumpy roads and slow around town, which is really bouncy under 25mph right now. I have whiteline poly bushings on all 4 corners and the crappy kyb struts So I just want to cruise around town and not be bouncing around. The street basis are sounding pretty good actually with that extra 1000$ I could upgrade the brakes

Ninjabong, try doing a Search using the word coilovers! BC coilovers have been very popular here on Driver for years, stiffness is caused by the coils used! Checkout our Marketplace under vendor suspension, they offer good prices and quick delivery along with any advice you might need to select the ride you're looking for!

I've searched coilovers alot actually but I know there is always more to read. I didn't know you could get different coils with the bc racing coilovers? Are you saying they sell different spring rate bc racing coilovers?

I do check out the marketplace too Ill look again

If this is strictly just staying as a street car, the basis will be more than adequate. Spend the extra money on a set of sticky tires. you wont be able to make full use of a good damper unless you really push the car

Most folks have no idea just how true this statement is. Personally I like Bridgestone Potenza for road use.
