What do you think then? Everything I tried wouldn't get that arm close enough. However, every measurement I took (lots) seem to match the other side. I see the solution proposed is the simple way out but it's not right.
Well if it were me I'd disassemble BOTH SIDES and compare all the link arms to.make sure there isn't still a bent component. It might actually be something bent on the opposite side that's pulling the assembly over that direction.
Interesting. I was trying to see the main blow. If you look at the arm where you adjust camber its toward the top but took a severe hit. The other arm seems designed to buckle to save further damage.
I looked at the schematic again in the fsm. The radius rod really took most of the hit. attached is the photo. With that force at that point it would have driven the rod into the subframe. If the subrame moved (not bent) at the right angle, could it have rearranged the subframe in such a way to make the rear lower link be further away from the knuckle? Could the subframe bushings be blown to cause this? I just saw this thread. https://g35driver.com/forums/brakes-...-bushings.html
Ok I went down to a local tuner shop today just to BS about various other things and they had a 350Z up on the rack getting stuff and I asked their opinion about what your issue could be. Basically the verdict is they all think you're installing that rear lower link wrong and I agree with them. That bolt you're trying to insert should go in FIRST, the bolt on the other end of it is the final bolt to install. It will have the tension of the spring (use a floor jack to lift it up as needed if you can't get enough leverage to physically push it) on it and the ANGLE OF THE SPRING is what's forcing it away.
EDIT: They also said to check that the spring didn't rotate wierd in it's upper and lower rubber seats and that you have the correct end facing up if it was removed.
