Red G35 Coupe
OEM replacement suspension

I need some input on what a good and budget friendly suspension for my entire car it is a 2003 g35 coupe I’ve read some of the forums but bilstein hd are a little bit too much for me right now

I'd shop around for a full kit, you can usually find one that has everything except struts, sway bar end links, and wheel bearings.

Timken makes great wheel bearings, sway bar end links is your choice, struts the budget option is KYB Excel-G but they're not a monotube so it won't ride like stock, Bilstein B6 is a great replacement but a little spendy.

If your suspension is REALLY shot and you need the SUPER BUDGET option get the 1AAUTO kit, it has everything except the struts. Even a cheapo trash front end kit is better than worn out components, it just won't last as long as quality stuff.

The only issue I have with those suspension "kits" is that the brand of the parts are pretty much unknown.

I made a "shopping" list post a few years ago when I fully refreshed the suspension on mine. What I would recommend is go over to Rock Auto, go the suspension and steering section, then MINIMIZE the economy parts. Stick with the Daily Driver quality sections, many brands have different "grades" of parts, Mevotech and Centric for example. Moog and ACDelco are going to be the better quality parts. Mevotech Supreme are usually a few dollars cheaper, but I had them wear out after only a few years. (Note: I used to put about 25k miles per year on my coupe, so they got a lot more use than the average driver).

For the front, you want both lower control arms (usually called lower forward and lower rearward), the upper control arm, ball joints, sway bar end links, and might as well replace inner and outer steering tie rods. The rear arms typically hold up a lot better, I'm still on factory arms in the rear, minus toe arms and toe bolts.

Shocks, struts, and mounts would be the next item. KYB Excel-G are good quality OEM replacements.

Does KYB make a full strut assembly with coil for the front? I can't seem to find any for my 2008 G35 Sport. Only brand thats shows on Rock Auto is FCA for a full strut assembly.

Typically the sport package G35's will not have a strut assembly available because of the different spring rate compared to the base model.

Personally I'm strongly against strut assembly because I've had VERY VERY bad luck with them in the past, you don't know WHAT spring you are going to get when you buy them. Sometimes you end up with wildly different rates at one corner and the car handles like crap. Or it's a different rate on either front/back (G35 doesn't use rear struts so no problem with the rears).

Light duty springs like this you can easily use a spring compressor to swap them over to the new strut cartridge, I've been using this one for quite a while now with zero issues on passenger cars. I wouldn't use it for a truck though, those springs have a LOT more tension on them. The trick with spring compressors is to lube up the thread rod very well for EACH USE. I know you're not supposed to use an impact wrench/driver on them but I always do, just take your time and don't go apeshit rattling one side down. I typically just spray the rod down thoroughly with some kind of aerosol lube or lithium grease, silicone spray, pfte spray, even WD40, or use a little motor oil. Basically whatever is closest to me when I get started.

Alternatively you can remove the struts and take them down and pay a small fee for someone else to swap the springs over to the new struts. Call around but it's probably going to be less than $50 for the pair to have someone with a pneumatic compressor swap them over. However you do need a second vehicle to drive them down...

The good news with the G35 is you only have to swap the FRONT struts. The rear of the car is actually a shock with a separate spring that you don't remove so it's significantly easier to replace.

You don't actually need a spring compressor. Loosen all of the control arm bolts, pop the upper arm loose from the spindle, and use a jack under the control arm. Basically use the weight of the car as the spring compressor and pop the nut off from in the engine bay. Was my ah ha moment after having to change out bad upper mounts.
