OEM quality Shocks and Struts recommendation
OEM quality Shocks and Struts recommendation
2005 G35 Coupe 6MT 1st owner looking to replace shocks and struts with OEM quality prior to finally selling our G! Need to make some room in the driveway and the car doesn't get driven enough and requires more maintenance then I want to do anymore. Trying to retire and fish more!! Any good recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
You won't recoup the cost of new OEM-like struts/shocks. Probably be best to just put a set of budget KYB Excel-G on it.
There isn't a good OEM-like budget option anymore since Tokico quit manufacturing struts for this car. The only OEM-like alternatives will either be less performance or more performance. If you want the more performance option Bilstein B6 is your choice. If you want less performance there's a whole slew of inexpensive shocks but the KYB ones have a good reputation of being decent.
Personally, unless they're making noise just sell the car as-is. Even a cheap set of shocks/struts will be a little over $300 plus your time to install and it's not going to increase the sale value of the car unless yours are REALLY REALLY shot and making noise.
