What To Do If Your Brakes Are Squeeking...What am I missing?

A homie and I installed some project mu front brake pads. All we did was replace the pads. They work great but I have only had them on for a week. There is hardly any brake dust but they are squeaky sometimes. Should I have done something with the rotors as well? Is there any spray or some other way to get rid of the noise? Anything will help!

1. Make sure to put Disc Brake Quiet on the back of each pad

2. Properly bed the new pads by doing several short runs, stopping firmly each time, increasing speed every few runs, allowing the brakes to cool between runs.

3. Resurface or replace rotors if needed. If you can feel a lot of grooves with your fingernail, you need to resurface. If you don't, the pads may glaze and cause more squeeking.

4. And yes, performance pads sqeek more. Mine sqeeked a LOT less after a few weeks. I don't mind it so much anymore because of the total lack of brake dust and better performance.

a pad slap is never good if you want to get rid of the squeaking. squeaking is caused because of glazed pads and rotors. if you change the pads you have to re-surface the rotors to get rid of the noise. i have never turned my rotors because i dont believe in doing that on a sports car or a nice expensive car. if you have squeaking with any pads you can sand off the top layer of the pad, and turn your rotors and you will be fine.

Please go and bed you brakes, as per instructions from Stoptechs website. I had brakes installed back in April and everything was fine for a while then after a few weeks they started to squeak during low speed light braking and was annoying the hell out of me not to mention very embrassing. I would have to stomp on the brakes to stop the noise. Today I finally was able to find a parking lot large enough and empty enough to follow the stoptech bed in recommendations. There is now hardly any sqeaking.
