Pics of Brembo Rotors?

Does anyone have any pics of their G with replacement Brembo slotted or XD rotors? I am trying to get a sense of what the gold finish will look like. My pads and rotors are in desperate need of replacement. I have decided to go with the Hawk HPS pads, and have just about decided to go with the Brembo slotted rotors from Tire Rack. Any insight is appreciated.

Thanks!

Why not check out the rotora cross drilled and slotted rotors for the G. They are made with high quality materials (unlike most of the fake brembo stuff out there) and are reasonably priced.

Omi is the FGC brake guru. He's purchased many different rotors and pads and he ended up going with the Project MU rotors. He told me that he purchased the brembo rotors from this website and had them inspected before he installed them. The result of the inspection was that the material used for the rotors was CRAP when compared to the OEM brembo materials! I almost purchased rotors from this site, so be careful with what you actually purchase. (Sorry Diesel1, I know you recommended this place to me before ).

PM OMI for more info.

The gold finish on the rotor surface will be scraped off instantly. All that will remain is the gold finish on the hub.

Tire Rack sell brembo sport rotors. Neffster, were those real Brembo sport rotors or knockoffs. I was thinking of getting the slotted ones from tirerack when I get new rotors. I have the Hawk HPS pads already in case I burnt through the stock pads at Sebring, but I didn't I figured once my stock pads were done, I'd go slotted with the new pads. I can't imagine real Brembo rotors would be crap compared to the OEM brembos...that would suck!

I am hoping the same thing, as I did go ahead and order them from Tire Rack today. I'll give you my full review when I have them installed.

Thanks for all the input!

I would cancel your order if you can. You should look for two-piece rotors. The brembo slotted replacements are heavy. Heavier than stock. That is my biggest regret with purchasing them.

However, I'd like to see some data regarding quality. I ordered mine from tire rack and was very impressed. More impressed when I tracked the car. Absolutely love the brake feel vs stock. It also came with a lifetime warranty against manufacturer defects including cracking. Most places only offered one year warranty on other rotors if that. That might not be an issue for some people, but my car sees track use whenever possible.

I spoke w/ OMI yesterday and he mentioned so much good stuff that I got it all mixed up.

Basically the 'knock off brembo' stuff is made with cheap iron materials. The Project MU, 2 piece with cross drilled and slotted (and dimples on the 2nd piece???) is made using a better material. Can't remember what he said. Also, the next best rotor was the Rotora cross drilled and slotted. It's also a 2 piece with dimpled... blah blah blah, but it is cheaper than the Project MU by quite a bit. For about $900-ish you can get all 4 rotors.

The OEM brembos are supposed to be better than the stuff you buy from lil'devil and the other cheaper places. His advice was that Brembos aren't cheap, so anyone selling them for next to nothing is selling junk. YMMV

I apologize for recommending a poor site if that is the case. All I can say is that my rotors came in a Brembo box, with the brembo install page and appear to be good quality. How does he know these are fakes? What's the proper way to tell? How are they inferior to stock. You can't just go by price because most places sell these for $400 or more for the pair.

Any clarification would be cool as I would def like to know if I got ripped off or not as well.

Thanks!

Doesn't sound like it. Brembo does not make drilled and slotted rotors as direct OEM replacements. It's either one or the other.

+1. I'd like to know too as my brembo drilled are on their way for delivery from Lildevil. Lildevil's prices are not too far off from Tirerack (>$50), as well as other online stores. And I think TR is a reputable store and would not sell knockoffs.

I talked to a rep from Buybrakes.com where I bought Hawk pads and he tried to match Lildevil's brembo prices and went down for $10 less! although their original prices were $50 more for each pair.

so how do u know they're knockoffs? not base on prices alone right? packaging? etc?
