How much for a spring install?

I got 2 prices so far...both said $100/spring (CDN)

1. Dealership
2. Spring and alignement shop

I don't believe it sholud cost that much. Can any good mechanic install springs?

I'm wondering how much others have paid?

thats what about $85 a spring (US)? thats pretty steep.... I dont know what most places charge though, thats just suprising. I really believe that most anyone CAN do it... but i wouldnt trust just anyone with my car. I have heard some horror stories about shops and would never take my car just anywhere. The only places that i'll take my G are the Dealership or SGP racing (in houston)... even if its not a install on whatever i get.

Yes about $80-$85US/Spring.

The dealer said it was a 4 hour job @ $100/hour. $400 total.

A lot of you guys have had springs installed, please let me know how much it should cost.

The rears only take like 10 minutes each side. Fronts take longer.

That's crazy. If you can't or won't do it yourself, it shouldn't cost more than like $200-$300 for all 4. Don't go to the dealer though...come on!

Re:

I just got my Tein S. Techs yesterday!

I think I'll most likely pay the extra money and have the springs installed by the dealer! I'm not really familiar with any tuner shops in this area, so I think going to the dealer is my best bet.

However, should I get an alignment done right after having the springs installed, or should I drive around for a few days and then get the alignment done?

Thanks.

I'd suggest at least 400-500 miles before getting an alignment, just to make sure the springs settle first.

Re:

Just scheduled an appointment with the dealrship to install my Tein S. Techs!

$130 per side and $70 for front and rear alignment back to factory specs! Comes out to about $340 (OTD)! They said it should take about 3-4 hours of labor.

I might just cancel the alignment and reschedule that with my 7500 mile service which is coming up soon!

^^^ I doubt they can get the Tein S-Techs back to factory specs. The drop will be a minimum 1 inch or more.

What's your location? If you're in So. Calif., many tuner shops will do the install for $150 or less. I got my Tein 350Z H-Techs with install at Street Image in Baldwin Park, CA for $260 (OTD).

I'm originally from Cali (born and raised), but I'm in Portland, Maine finishing up Med School. There are hardly any modded/custom rides out here, which leaves me to believe that there aren't any tuner shops in this area. So I figured the dealership would be my best bet and that they would get it done right.

As for the alignment, I think I'm going to put on about 500 miles after the springs are installed, and then go in for an alignment. I really don't want to buy the camber kit, but if the tire wear gets too bad, then I'll be forced to buy it.

I paid $150 to have my Tein H-Techs installed. Since the srpings are for a 350z, the shop told me the suspension may click. I haven't heard a click yet .
