As said, there are some good write-ups on a few of the forums. Sorry I can't direct you to where, but I can say this, I've never done a brake job in my life, but after doing it once and seeing how easy it was, I'll never pay for another one again.

My dealer quoted me $500 for front brake pad replacement. For less than that, I got cross-drilled Brembo front rotors, and front AND rear Hawk pads. I installed them myself in a little under 3 hours with air-tools in my garage on jack stands.

Just be patient and tender bolting the caliper back on. Other than that it is simple. You really don't need to read a DIY, just take it apart, pretty hard to screw it up.

Rotor/Pad replacement

I helped a friend replace his rotors and pads on his WRX a few weeks ago. I would say it's pretty easy in terms of complexity.

You will need a clamp and one important thing.... You need to use brake cleaning fluid to wipe down the rotors. I believe the rotors will come oiled to prevent rust, but you need to wipe out all that oil before it comes in contact with your new brake pads. My friend forgot this part and now he has to buy new pads. The risks of DIY.

Good Luck!
