New rotors?
New rotors?
So I've been dong some research on brakes since it seems that my rears need to be replaced and I'm about to replace them along with the fronts with some Hawk pads. I've just been looking and when is it reccomended to change the rotors? Is there any way to gauge wear on the rotors or are you just suppose to change them at a certain time? thanks

You need to get your rotors measured with a MICrometer. Most automotive shops that do brakes should have a MIC handy and be able to tell you if the rotors are machinable or if you just need to replace them.

Look for a thread I was the author of a few weeks back, somebody posted the actual original thickness and minimum thickness specs. I wrote down 0.902" on a scrap of paper on my desk but I'm not sure if that was my measurement or the minimum spec or what.
>>from sedan manual
Rotor Wear limits
Max run out > .035mm
& rotor wear limit = 22mm (thickness)
max uneven wear (measure @ 8 points > .015mm
