Coilovers & Alignment

When you have coilovers and want to raise the car say for a long trip or lower it more for a show how does this effect the alignment?

Absolutely yes.

And some coilovers will not adjust rear ride height unless you disconnect the lower control arm from the hub. And If that's still not enough to get the adjustment system to turn and you have to crack the inner control arm bolt, that same bolt is the cars rear toe control system.

You can do things to minimize the absolute need to rush over to the alignment shop, but any change in ride height changes things. What was rear "toe in" may go to "toe out" when you raise the car as a example. You really don't want that on these cars.

Is the G the only car with this idiotic suspension setup? I never heard of spending as much for parts to lower your car as the coilovers.

how? there's more emphasis on the camber being flared out when you lower the car. Have your car aligned for daily driving, and for shows...drop it like it's hot!!! There's just something about rediculously lowered cars with crazy camber flare. just remember to bring the car back up when you roll.

You don't want toe out. That's what he was trying to point out.
