Sway Bar Settings?

I've got Stillen adjustable sways set at soft/medium (f/r). I also have 350z H-Techs and Tokico D-Specs. However, I still find more "weight transfer" on cornering, ramps, etc than I want. The sways and other suspension mods helped and did eliminate a bit of understeer, but I still get that horrible feeling of all the weight going hard to the outside tires when turning. My last two cars - '99 328i and '00 C280 - simply did not have this sensation. I could turn quite aggressively without feeling like I was coming out of my seat.

My question is....am I stuck with this or should I try more aggressive sway bar (or D-Spec) settings? I like this car but even after these mods and a set of performance tires, it just doesn't handle like a champ IMHO.

FYI, the stiffer the setting in the front, the more the understeer.
THe stiffer the setting in the rear, the more the oversteer.
But i guess ur question deals more with weight transfer.

PS: Sorta off topic, but the sway bar for the g35 goes under the car right? What is the bar that goes right above the engine cover called? Tower bars?

I'm having the same problem. The car just doesnt have the suspension to handle all the weight and power. Where do you have your D-specs set at?

Sway Bar, Tie Bar, and Strut Tower Bars... those are the three main bars for our cars. At this moment, there arent any front strut tower bars because of clearance issues. The only strut bar that is for our cars is the rear strut tower bar.

D-Specs are set at 3.5 turns from full hard in front, 4 in rear. -T

Thanks, so strut bar is just a short form of saying strut tower bar?

EDIT: found out answer, strut bar is tower bar.

it's the tires that arent keeping up with the suspension upgrades. maybe try getting falken rt615 or Dunlop Direzza DZ101 at 225/45/18 all around.

Sounds to me like you don't have enough spring. Though I would run the shocks firmer, 2.5 from full firm in the front and 3 from full firm in the rear.

Tire pressures and current alignment specs? (wondering where your toe may be set at)

I'm running 4 turns out from full hard on the D-specs all the way around. Stillen Sways are Med/Med... Eibach Prokit springs. 245/275 Bridgestone SO-3's and it has a bit of understeer but I'd rather have understeer than oversteer since it's easier to guage or control.

I have ordered the rear strut brace to stiffen the rear a bit. Should be perfect after that.

Increase the swaybar setting? The soft setting is softer than factory right? (At least for the 05 coupe with SS it is). That should take the sway out of the ride.
