Specific Springs question.

I am currently looking to purchase some springs as I feel the need to improve the cars suspension. I know this has been asked many times before but some of the answers I found searching was not sufficient enough for my needs. I am thinking about getting 350Z springs as they should improve handling and give me a 1/2in drop. Now the question aries if I do go with the 350Z springs should I go with the newer 04.5+ or the 03. I want something that feel similar to stock when going over potholes and similar stuff but yet want something that give improved handling over stock setup. Now I would also like to know which after market springs also give a 1/2in and offers similar specs to what I am looking for. I looked at the sticky but found nothing too similar to what I am looking for. The RSR for the 350Z sounds like what I am looking for but since I drive an 03 sedan the drop would be more like 1.6in instead of the .6 I am looking for. Any other options? One final note is that the max drop I am looking at is around .8in Thank you.

I can speak for the drop with the '05 350Z springs. They did drop my coupe 1/2". There are numerous posters who have stated the drops with earlier Z version springs are not even but I do not have personal experience there. As to other springs I'll let someone with direct knowledge answer you.

Well that is good to know. How do you like the ride of it compared to what you had on there? Thank you.

It's hard to do a fair comparison becasue at the same time I changed to Tokico shocks which are set firmer than stock.
I believe the ride on mine would be identical as we measured and the springs were identical in diameter therefore believe the same spring rates. However I think this is only true with Canadian models of 04 coupes that have a sport suspension with firmer springs and shocks.
In any case the ride is great.

I installed the espelir gt springs that drop .5 inch all around. Ride quality is not that much different than stock. On the freeway, it feels alot better than stock. I had the springs intalled just about two weeks ago and the springs are just about settled. I might have to cut my rear fenders though, I rub when I take the turns a bit hard. I don't have to cut them because I don't see myself making turns like that all the time. My wheels offset has to do a lot with it. Good luck on the purchase.
