Semi-metallic gives you longer-life pads (and I understand because of the harder material they will also be harder on your rotors than "Regular" pads). Ceramics are good because they are lower on brake dust. I'm waiting to get these as the OEM pads have so much dust they are driving me nuts.

I always talked about getting hawks...but I used wagner thermo quiets with the bembros....they lasted 40k(with excessive aggresive driving).....I just replaced the fronts again with the same pads....lifetime warranty the pads were free..this time.....they originally cost me $27......hawks $99 vs free...no complaints and dust is a none issue.

from my experience ceramic has way less dust but not as much bite. Semi-metalic seems to give a better bite. When I switched over to ceramic pads on my car I could def. tell the difference. They are now more linear in feel, no more touchy super sensitive brakes. The initial pedal depression is no longer jerky. But the down side is braking distances are longer. Get ceramic only if you want to cut down on the dust.

Satisifed makes replacement pads for the brembos and they are great! They dust very little and I have used them on the track and on the street. Pad feel is the same as stock but almost no dust! You can get them at tire rack for $25.

Ceramic pads arent that great, I would stay away from them if you plan any aggressive driving.
