Looking for bigger rear OEM brake set
to up size my 05 G35x rear. currently rotor 12.1"


Is 05 coupe & sedan(non x) 12.6 or 12.9 rear?

please post photos & price.

 

05 coupe is also 12.1 rear.

 

Why? Do you have a front BBK already? Upgrading the rear with either more caliper force or larger rotors will put more bias towards the rear. Potentially a dangerous situation. If your rears lock before the fronts, you might be seeing eye to eye with the person behind you very soon.

 

upgrading *just* rear brakes will alter your brake bias in a way that could be very dangerous to you and your car. you need to upgrade both F&R or neither.

 

That's not entirely true. Many people have just upgraded the front with Stoptech 13" or 14" kit and kept the rear stock. The bias is still okay since Stoptech did the research and maintained bias by doing things like reducing piston diameter.

I just found out that my 05 G35x is 11.7" front & 11.3" Rear.
Which is smaller than 05 Sedan/Coupe 2wd. They are 12.6 Front & 12.1 Rear.

Now, I saw a set of 06 350Z OEM Brakes for sale.
Which is 12.6 front & 12.1 Rear.
(The same size rotors as 05 G35 bigger than x).

My questions are

1, Could this be bolt on my 05 G35x directly?
2, Could the Stoptech direct replacment rotors made for
05 G25 (12.6/12.1) be used to replace the stock 06 350z rotors.
3, Are the 350Z brakes better or worse than G3g?
The 350Z Calipers look diffreent. I really like the look of the
350Z rear caliper.
