Rear Dampening Adjustment
I've ready thru a number of posts where most of you adjusted your rear dampening (from the outside) relatively quickly.
I have the Tein CS installed on my 04 coupe, this weekend I jacked the car up and unbolted the upper seat to try to access the adjustment ****. I was under the impression I could easily access this, but I ended up removing the bottom bolts too cause I didn't have enough room to access this ****.
My question is how did some of you do it, without having to remove the entire shock? I did have another jack compressed against the base too, however could still not get the adjustment **** down enough. This was definitely a pain, just to make an adjustment.

What about using these for an RX-8?

I was thinking of getting these before I mounted my D-specs. A hole in the carpet and a hole in the metal over the shock mount with a rubber grommet should work to do the trick. This way you can adjust the spring rate easily from inside the trunk??

Although the D-spec rear shocks are fully adjustable on the RX-8, accessing the adjustment **** after the shocks are installed on the car is virtually impossible. The design of the rear suspension places the tops of the shocks in a recessed area on either side of the trunk area. Further, once the shocks are installed and the retaining brackets are replaced, the tops of the shocks are buried deep inside this recessed area.
To address limited access issues such as this, Tokico has developed a set of Extension Adjustment Cables that will allow remote adjustment of the D-Spec Shocks. Offered as set of two (2), these cables are mounted to the tops of the rear shocks during the installation, and routed up into the truck area. On our RX-8, we simply drilled a small hole in the trunk liner and positioned the adjustment **** in a very accessible location. Now, making adjustments to the rear shock is extremely quick and easy!
