HELP!? - Replaced rotors, pads, lines, fluid - now SLIP, VDC, BRAKE light are on?

Help! What did I do wrong?!?

This past weekend, I put my 04 coupe 6mt on jackstands and replaced:
The OEM Brembo Rotors with StopTech 2-piece Slotted Rotors
The OEM Brembo Pads with Project Mu Titan Kai brake pads
The OEM Brake lines with StopTech Stainless Steel lines
The Brake fluid with Motul 600 DOT 4 brake fluid.

After bleeding the system (BOTH nipples on each caliper), I did a quick
test of the brakes, then took it out to a lonesome road and performed
a Brake Bedding procedure. Several hard stops from 60-10, then several hard stops from 80-10, then a cooling off extended drive. Everything worked fine.

THE PROBLEM:
Today, I drove the car for the first time since this weekend, and the SLIP, VDC OFF, and BRAKE lights come on and will not go off???
The car still brakes fine...as a matter of fact, if I brake *really* hard, the brake light will go off for a few seconds, but then come back on.
My brake fluid is between the MIN and MAX lines, & the car stops well.
I turned the car off and on a few times, but the 3 lights still come on?

What happened? What does this mean? What did I do?

Thanx in advance for your advice.

Check that the wheel speed sensors are connected properly. More likely to be front than rear because the rear sensors are close to the differential IIRC, while the front sensors are at the front wheels. Possibly one of them was damaged or disconnected during your brake R/R.

Hey, this happened to me as well, fill your brake fluid to the Max line that fixed it for me. It has something to do with the brake fluid not filled. Give that a shot and let me know, but I had the same problem.

Excellent, thanx for the suggestions. I'll fill up the fluid. Of course, its Motul 600 fluid which I don't you can get at autozone, etc? So I'll have to order me some off the net, takes 3 days, oh well.

I'll try this stuff and let you guys know....thanx again.

There was an interesting comment in the new issue of SportZ magazine on this. They ran a "Brake tech" article and in it they said NOT to use larger rotors if you have ABS and VDC. They did not elaborate.

Good info...
In my case, the replacement rotors are the same size. But they are slotted, 2-piece rotors with an aluminum hat from StopTech, which should make them a bit lighter, I think.

Explain this:

I haven't done anything yet.
(haven't added brake fluid, haven't checked connections, haven't driven the car in days)
Today, I drive it for the first time in days, less than 20 miles to my destination. All lights are still on (Brake, SLIP, VDC), as expected.
I park the car for 90 minutes while I'm in the meeting, then start the car to go home, and all lights are off... Brake, SLIP, and VDC are off.
On the way home, if I brake a bit harder than normal, I noticed the Brake light will come on for a few seconds, then turn back off. (ok, I need to fill up the brake fluid a bit, I know, I'll do that).
But why did the SLIP and VDC lights disappear? I'm not complaining, but
Loose connection, as ya'll suggest? I'll see happens the next few times I drive.

Thanx for your help.

same thing happened to me, i read it has soemthing to do with with just being a warning, by having the lights on. i think they turn on when it does not have enough brake fluid, my lights would turn on whenever i went over a speed bump in my apartment complex. when i got to work and turned it back on they wouldnt come on, so i think the float or sensor triggers it. jsut fill up the brake fluid see what happens.

FOLLOWUP:
I finally got around to topping off the brake fluid. I filled it to *just below* the MAX line.

Everything is fine now! All lights are off, and stay off.

Thanx, gqong, for the original diagnosis & prescription - you were right on target!

S.
