Axxis Ultimate and Dust

Those that have these on, can you tell me if the dust level is the same as stock? I was suggest to get PMU pads since they're very good and very low on dust residues, but they cost a lot more than the Axxis Ultimate.

Thanks

I have these pads, and they're great on the street, and hold up just fine in AutoX. Don't think I'll try running them on the track, though. As far as dust, they do dust quite a bit, but so do pretty much all semi-metallic pads.

Almost every modern brake pad is both a Semi Metallic and a Ceramic.

Everyone contains some metal oxides and some ceramic compounds.
What ever the Marketing Department chooses to call it. To confuse you.

Seems like quite a few people complain about brake dust?

I just got my 4 x 355mm Stoptech BBK and I can't wait to install the kit. I say bring on the dust!

I really don't car if it sprays dust just as long as it doesn't stain my Volk Lips AND as long as the dust doesn't damage my paint!

For a long time the German governmemt's brake standards were higher than US [after all everything was designed for 55 mph]........thus the severe dusting on BMW, MB, Audi in 80 and 90s designed to stop from 120 regularly.

Once good braking came to mainstream US via Japan [Accura, then Q45 and Lexus] so did the dust.

In 2000 the US adopted tighter braking standards [still not up to EU quality] but maybe in another 10 years or so.........every car will dust severely, hopefully.

I've got Axxis Ultimates on alll 4 corners. For the track I run Pagid Oranges on the fronts (per Matt Weiss at StopTech's reccomendation). The dust sucks, but I don't think you'll find Auto-x, or near track pads that don't. I can live with the dust, the one thing that annoys me is the noise. Matt told me that if I bed them I should be okay, but I did bed them properly, and they still squeal on me. I might try to bed them again, but if I can't fix that in the future, I might downgrade to the D+'s or something more street friendly. I'll make a note that the Pagid's on the front and the Ultimates on the back were just amazing on the track. I pounded on the brakes and never had a problem. With the pagid's the initial bite was huge.
