Settled on wheels, now a 1" drop?

I got a 04 or maybe a 03.5 non sport suspension. Is that based on the manufacturing date? The door says 09/03.

I bought some 19x8.5 with 245/35s all around. I haven't installed yet as I just purchased. From what I have been reading it sounds like I should drop it about an inch to look right. The easiest and cheapest is the 350z route I guess but I don't know exactly what I need to buy.

Can someone spell it out for me please so I can start the purchasing?

You should really search around here and in the Wheel forum. Most of the questions you've been asking have been asked/answered so many times before.

It's not so much that you can get oem Z springs for cheap to drop a sedan 1". It's also that you can get that 1" drop without progressive spring compromises. And without spring rate's that make you wonder who let the chimp into the R&D chair.

I have the 350z susp and love it. Rides almost like stock(just firmer). I have the 19x8 running 245/35/19 and there still is some gap in both front/back. To almost eliminate the gap you need either (lower)springs or 245/40/19 tire.

Transport - Thanks for the reply

Do you have a pic? Can you give me the details on what you used? I am confused on what I need from reading other posts. Revised vs unrevised? It seems the standard suspension has different spring rates s well?

2003 - 2006 - G35 sedan non sport spring rates - 283/308

Am I supposed to get '05 350z struts with front 03 Z springs and rear 03 G coupe springs?

It's too bad you already bought your tires...I went w/ 19x8.5 w/ 245/40's all around. Fills up the fender gap more (larger O.D. than OEM wheels) & eliminated the need for me to drop my car. IMO, I LOVE the looks (amt. of gap in fender) with this setup, and I was able to avoid having to drop it. Though there are some members who will always say "now you gotta drop it to finish off the look". IMO, it's perfect & eliminates extra cost & wear & tear on the shocks.

Are the H&R shocks for $240 all that is needed then?

I just swap the shocks and I am dropped an inch? No adjustments to be made? I don't know much about suspension and don't want to get over my head.

If that is it, sweet!

You'll need an alignment after any drop.

I believe you will need to get adjustable cambers, correct me if I am wrong.

You don't have to get adjustable camber arms. You may experience some negative camber in the front, but not so much with only a 1" drop.

So here are the new wheels. Do I need the drop? If it is lowered an inch will it hit?

I don't see where you posted the specs of the wheels. Size, width, offset and tire size.

From what I can see you would do well to drop your G a bit.

definitely true but it also screws with your odometer and your speed will always be off.
