2005 G35x Brakes

I know that I'm not alone with this problem. I just took my 2005 G35X to the dealer for 15,000 mile service and to check out my squealing front brakes. I'm told that I need new pads and rotors. I'm told that even though the '05 & 06s have different front brakes than the '03 & 04s there are still problems with the front brakes. Infiniti extended the brake warranty for the '03s and '04's but not the '05s and 06s. Both the dealer and Infiniti customer service said that enough people complain the brake warranty will be extended to cover the '05 and '06 model year.
Please complain to Infinity customer service at 800-662-6200.

I've got a 2003 and I'm getting a front Big Brake Kit upgrade from the law suit I won against Infiniti for the defective brakes.

The 06 has the improved brakes thus it would be unnecessary to cover those cars. They should on the other hand cover the 05s if the brakes are bad after 15k=-That's crap.

Hmmm, I wonder if he's being a smart a$$ here? A settlement like that could sure open the flood gates.

He was part of a class-action lawsuit that was dismissed, but some of the individual members of the lawsuit were awarded money. Not sure what the settlement was for, but he gave a lot of information and had reciepts and documentation for everything....

All the 05's had the upgraded brakes also, except the G35X - which had the non-brembo's from the 03's and 04's.

Is there anyway to get defintive proof that they didn't change the 05x brakes. I'm considering legal action/arbitration and want to cover all my bases showing that Infiniti is aware of the problem.

yea, check out a 05x. Ask a dealership. My service rep wasnt even aware that the X had the smaller rotors.

If you can find an '05 brochure somewhere, it states the brake sizes for the sedan and the X, and the are smaller for the X, I don't understand why they didn't upgrade the X brakes until this year, the brakes were the main reason I traded my '04 for my '05.

some people believes that including the smaller breaks on the 05x was a good way to get rid of extra stock

I just think they didnt have time to change the components on the AWD system, so they kept it the same for an extra model year on the X. There are probably differences in some of the front suspension components vs the RWD G.

Thanks for that idea. I still had my brochure so I checked it and it does say that the AWD brakes are smaller. Now all I need is an '04 Brochure to show that they didn't change the size from one year to the next. Anyone have an extra '04 brochure laying around that they don't need?
