Clickiclickiclick

Just heard the same clicking noise come from (as best I can tell) the right rear axle for the first time today. (13600 miles, 04 Coupe 6MT)
I went straight to the dealer, and asked the first sales guy who greeted me in the parking lot to hop in and listen.
He did, and he heard the noise immediately. He grabbed a tech, who took a ride around the lot with me, and he heard the noise also.
He knew what it was, told me about the TSB, and scheduled an appointment for me next week with a loaner car.
He said they actually have to rebuild some rear axle components.

I looked up the TSB at nissan-techinfo.com, and found:
ITB05002:
IF YOU CONFIRM: a "clicking" noise is coming from the left and/or right rear axle when accelerating from a stop. (EXACTLY MY SYMPTOM)
ACTION: Determine if the noise is coming from one side or both sides. Replace the Outer Axle Joint(s) and the Wheel Bearing(s).

We'll see how it goes next week.
OK.

Yep I actually printed out the TSB and handed it to the service manager when I dropped mine off this morning. I am having them look at the sunroof rattle and passenger window popping. They also owe me a second key so they are cutting that also. I got a loaner car and he said it would be all done by 5pm. I really don't think they are that quick but if they do finish in time cool with me.

Having mine done today, they said they are replacing both axles and bearings. My dealer is killer they had an 05 FX35 waiting on me to drive when I got there. Nissan had to buy back my 04 Titan under lemon law and the difference between Nissan and Infiniti as far as customer support is amazing, especially since they are the same company?!

I just installed Volk SF-Winnings and noticed the sound. You can hear it when accelerating and decelerating. I went back to the place that installed the wheels to listen to it. Held my foot on the brake while taking turns giving gas at Drive and Reverse. Does it every time. I can also here it when driving alogside a wall.

I hope this is the problem and not the wheels! I'll call Infiniti today and set up an appointment for an oil change and have them check it out.

Same Problem

I have 5,400 miles on my car and it has been doing for the last 1,000 miles. I have been waiting for my next service to ask about it. I thought it was something I did.i guess not. What exactly is the fix?

i went to the dealer today, at 25k, to have them check out the noise. i told them that some of you guys have had your axles and wheel bearings replaced, and the service writer said that wasnt necessary. he said there is a tsb out and the only thing he needs to replace is the a cap and six hex screws. i hope this solves the problem.

Is this clicking noise the same noise that I get when I accelerate from a stop. It basically sounds like beans in a tin can? Anything like that?

It has been described if full. Not this way.

If you here it anytime you accelerate or decelerate or have a forward or back motion. Ding Ding Ding. You have a winner.

To me it sound like a stress on metal.

I've had my Sedan in twice for this problem and the dealer, although has admitted to hearing the noise, has yet to be able to solve it. The first time they performed the TSB (ITB 02080B???) and the second time they retorqued the rear seat bolts. Neither of these has solved it.

I have had the click noise on my G twice... once on the Rear Passenger and then once on the Rear Driver... The click happened from a stand still to click once or twice between shifts... less noticable on higher gears because of road noise... but it is still there...

Passport Infiniti had no problems fixing this issue. I asked him what the problem was... He stated that the Rear Axle bolts needed to be tightened... Give the service dept a call @ 703-461-1500 (Virginia Number) they should have no problem explaining the problem...
