i spent $60 + tax at mavis discount tire. i had my tires installed there the week before, so i think they gave me some kind of discount.

i remember midas wanted $85 + tax, and i think the dealer wanted the same (or maybe more at the dealer, probably).

if your car is pulling to the right, it might be a TSB.
(my nearest dealer -- competition infiniti of ny SUCKS when it comes to TSBs so i can't tell you much more about that...)

tsb=technical service bulletin

Take it to the dealer and tell them your car is pulling to the right and they should check it under warranty. do that first before you go for an alignment.

If you plan to put springs on I would wait for the allignment and get it done after. On top of springs, you'll need a camber kit to get things perfect. If your not going to mod then get the dealer to check the tsb first. Acctually I would get the tsb checked anyways before anything.

Stupid question but are the wheels taken off or kept on during an alignment?

normally you never need one unless you suffer frame or suspension damage/problems. also check your tire pressure, a few psi off and your car will pull. also be aware that the roads have a crown so the rain drains off. check while your in the middle lane (highway).

I align mine every 6 months whereas most wait a year 15,000 miles.

The car feels fine.

Not sure even an expert could feel 0.25 degree of camber misadjustment or change..........easily measured however.

Every 6months - even a year? Do you get them free? Boy i suppose tech's need to make a living also.

If your car doesn't pull, and your tires show normal wear - your fine. The proof is in the tire.

If you don't know what normal wear should look like then spend your money on a rotation and ask the tech if the tires look like they are wearing normally. That way your paying for something that's recommended and getting free advice.

BTW, BMW doesn't recommend tire rotations because that will temporarity upset the way the tire sits on the ground - the tires would need to re-settle. I don't think ppl take off ramps at 60mph so it wouln't matter to most.
