Is the extra money worth it?
Is the extra money worth it?
Looking at 235/50/17 and 225/55/17 tires. Let me ask. Is it worth the extra money for the 235/50/17 on a stock sedan? Or even the 225/55/17? or should I stick with the stock size?
There is a positive correlation to tread life vs load index rating [how much weight reserve you have vs used to support the vehicle].
Oem picks tire strength suitable for the average driver under average conditions.
A higher load index is a good thing as is any extra margin of safety in any endevour............what ever you can afford better is better.
Don't assume lesser brands in the same load index are actually the same different companies use different criteria to select justify load index numbers............Based on 40 years experience Michelin has the HIGHEST STANDARDS of excellence in testing and reporting the truth.
