Modding Leased Coupes?

Is it stupid to slightly mod a lease coupe?

Im planning on leasing a black coupe for 3 years because it is more conveniant for me (plus the new coupes will be arriving in about 1 year). Problem is, I have a thing for modding cars. I just cant stand owning a car without modding it.

Im planning on adding a Z-Tube + CAI, Mrevs, and maybe an aftermarket exhaust.

Will this also be a problem with the dealers since it really isnt going to be my car ?

Hope you guys have good advisement/suggestions

my car is a lease and i have done a few modifications. i would recommend doing only bolt-ons that are easy to remove. When you return the car sell the parts. All dealerships look at mods differently, sawgrass inifiniti here in south FL hasnt said anything about my mods when i take it for service. hope this helps

I think it depends on your lease deal. If you can get a good lease deal with a low residual then you can sell it to someone else and make a profit. or, you can just buy it yourself. If you have a bad deal and know for sure that you arent going to keep it, then you just have to be willing to do the work of putting parts on and taking them off before you return it. which means for 3 years have to keep all the stock parts where they are not ging to be lost.

my 2 cents

No, like I said before, Im only going to lease a coupe for 3 years. And at the end of the lease, I plan on buying the new 08 G coupe or maybe another car.

I have always moded my lease cars. It depends on the place you are returning the car. I have some mods and I don't plan to take them out unless they tell me to. Maybe I might take out my exhaust and my wheels but other than that I leave. So far I was able to sell all my lease cars just before the end date. Its better that way because you don't have to worry about your miles.

i leased a wrx for 4 years and had a couple of mods on it. Just took them off before I gave it back in and sold them. no big deal. Also, most bolt ons arent going to directly cause harm to your car, and if they do the dealer by law has to prove that it was solely them that caused the problem. sooo most dealers I know don't really give a rat's @ss. I'm leasing my 06 coupe right now and put on a ztube and clear corners so far. If you want to put on more, its your choice..whatever brings you enjoyment man.

My lease has a high residual = lower payment, I'm not going to buy it out.
