Girls can't buy cars
Unless the dealership just happens to have an abundance of coupes onhand, they may not be willing to do invoice or less... ...especially if Infiniti isn't offering any incentives.
If you're encountering resistence on the invoice-or-below price you want, take a step back and decide how much your time is worth. When you think about the minimal difference in monthly payment that $500 more on the purchase price will make to you, it starts to seem like you're getting yourself stuck on principal or your own ego.
When you build in something for the dealership & salesman to make, you'd be surprised how fast they'll agree.
Getting a great price doesn't mean leaving the dealership without them making anything. How often do you hear someone complaining about getting ripped because they paid $500, maybe even $700 over invoice? Keep things in perspective. You want to buy a nice $35K car, not some rusted-out VW for $1000. If you want the car, find out the average invoice and then add $500 (maybe up to $700) and make the offer.
If finding the lowest price is your top priority, start shopping elsewhere instead of wasting your time and this specific dealership's time.

Infiniti's are not like Lexus where they have a huge profit margin between sticker and invoice price. There are also no incentives on the Coupe except for low financing. Also realize there are not that many ivory pearl 6mt's around. I know that my dealership we have a few cars that are a very rare combination and I won't budge for more than $1000 over invoice for it which people will pay for their choice of color. good luck on your purchase
If it's a GM or something, I might consider this a possibility. But when was the last time you got even a fraction of that sort of discount on a new Honda or Toyota? They don't have such a large gap in between their MSRP and invoice pricing.
But in order to take your suggestion, wouldn't it be beneficial to offer something other than "Trust me in this!"? Afterall, how knowledgable is someone supposed to come across when they, confidently, assert that they won't pay more than $5000 below MSRP because vhtan on g35driver said EVERY NEW CAR has at least that much between invoice and MSRP?
There are plenty of resources for finding accurate average-invoice pricing, MSRP, incentives, holdbacks, etc. Can you offer anything of substance to support that your suggestion is accurate... ...beyond GM or Ford products that are publicizing such incentives/discounts?

What I've done in the past and has worked for others is to do the research on the net (edmunds gives you pricing, incentives, and financing specials all on one site), submit for price quotes off the internet (again you can do this off edmunds) and sit back and collect all the quotes.
Once you get the quotes from all the dealers and assuming the quotes fall into your price range, you have many approaches as people have suggested above. Two which have worked for me are :
1.) Talk to the dealer nearest you and ask them to meet or beat your best offer.
2.) Send an email to all researched dealerships (use BCC) detailing the exact specs for the car and the price you want to pay(again research, and work with "out the door" numbers) and state clearly "First one to meet my price gets my business."
Good luck and enjoy the car

So flashing your boobies don't do it anymore these days? Sucks to be a female...jk! I have a third party broker based in Little Tokyo and he'll give you the invoice price based on Edmunds.com. Your best place is to get interet quotes from reputable online sites and not these jim&bobmegacarlot.com sites. haha Seriously...edmunds' site invoices it lower than Kelly Blue Book. Check it out... www.edmunds.com and www.kbb.com
Right on. I checked with Grubbs, who is about 6 hours away from me, and then contacted Austin Infiniti (4 hours away) and asked them to meet the discount. They beat it by $250. I ended up buying online, which I never thought I would do, but they made it extremely easy and painless. After getting the price emailed back to me, there really wasn't any reason not to proceed online. After we agreed on price, that's pretty much it.
Hi Guys,
Thanks for all your input. I've PM'd a whole lot of you for info and hopefully this gives me an upper hand in negotioating!
I'm going to contact these guys and see what I can get. I'm definately want to officially join the forums now =)

Rules of negotiation
U got to be educated about the car so dealer wont tell you any crap that is not true.
Set a reasonable price that you would pay for a car (not a dealer price)
Go to dealer at the end of the month (they need to meet their monthly quota) and talk to sales person who will actually sit down with you and negotiate the price (not the 17 year old kid who gonna run back and forth looking for answers)
if he does not lean towards your price tell him that this i s what you are going to pay for it and give them you'r card and tell him to call you when he's redy to give you this price.
Wear something revealing
helps all the time. Always be one step ahead of him make sure you mean business and not someone that they can take advantage off.
Good luck

contact the internet sales departments. I've found that they are the easiest to work with since you do all your haggling through email. you can get your car at invoice. i believe the infiniti dealer near buena park offered me one at invoice. i live in norcal so i went to one in the bay that also offered it at invoice. being a girl doesn't matter i think, cuz my wife haggled our interest rate down.
I have two friends in the internet dept one at metro infiniti (joe z) in monrovia and one at infiniti of montclaire (Hiro) let them know Manny sent you I can get you $100-$400 over invoice on any car their except M35 M45

Try Miller Infiniti in Van nuys, thats where im gonna take my car for all of my service.
Ask for the internet sales dept. when you call the dealer. Tell them what car you want and tell them you want it at invoice price. More than likely they will deal it for you at $100 over invoice + tax and licence. The car is not exactly rare so you know it's available and can demand prices. 07 will be coming out in August so they have to move their inventory.
