major differences in years of G35 coupes

im still looking to buy a used G35 coupe. I wanted to know what, if any, differences there are between 03,04,05. I probably am going to be looking for an 03, or an 04 max (bc of my budget), so i wanted to know what i should look for.

Do the brembo brakes come standard in 04 or are they an option?

Im not too familiar with the car yet, but all i know is that im definately going to get it. Im located in NY by they way, so if anyone has one for sale, let me know!

thanks

main two differences are the interior is 10x nicer in the 05, and the 05 has the rev up engine..........only the 03 and 04 have the brembos........search for more info

Not to steal your thunder...sorry...What is a rev-up engine? is that the same for the sedans too?

As far as the differences between years, they are very minor, I believe that 05 has lit steering wheel control displays as well as others that I can't think of right now.

Didn't the brembos come as an option for 03 ATs?

^^ +1. The '03 automatics, like mine, didn't have the Brembo option on our 17's.

if you're going to buy a g35, get an 05+

if not, look into a different car because it wont be worth it

When i went shopping, i looked for 04s (cause that is what only fit my budget as well). Depends if you want an AT or MT... I know the AT for 03/04 have an 3/36000 mile warranty on their brakes... the MT versions do not... also... I was able to get full aero, premium, front lip for 26...

thats not entirely true... its still a nice car... i wish i could have went for an 06... but i don't have the cash flow right now... oh well... gives me reason to trade her in a two years for an 08 g35,

i dont agree at all... i couldnt really afford a low mileage 05 so I went with an 04. yes the interior isnt quite as nice.. but still a really nice car.

As for the brakes... I have a AT and the brakes are great... theres only one problem with the G's brakes. They wear out extremely quick... like the front ones had to be replaced at 13k on my car. After the brake warranty is up im going to go with an aftermarket solution

Correct me if I 'm wrong but the 03-04 6mt's had brembos as an option, right? I vaguely remember seeing a 6mt with normal brakes when I purchased my car in April of 03. You could get a 6mt with out the sport wheel and brake package.**Never mind...I just checked ebay and all 03 and 04 6mt's had brembos**

BTW, the brakes really depend on how you drive. I just changed my pads last week after 3 plus years and 30k miles and I have the Brembos. The pads cost 85 plus 15 shipping for Axxis and it only took 1-2 hours to change all four corner. Some have had to change theirs after 12 to 15k. Again it is how you drive.

My advice is to get the 04 with brembos. They are great for the price. You can always add on with the extra cash!
