What would you pay for this '07 coupe
I have been in contact with dealers through e-mail and their asking price for an 07 coupe 5at with Premium, Navigation, Sport pkgs, trunk mat, xm radio, and splash guards is $38,500 + fees . The only options that matter to me are Premium, Navigation and Sport packages. Obviously, I am not very persuaded in buying it at this price. So I ask you g35 drivers, what you would pay or consider a good deal on this particular coupe I am looking at? Originally I was looking into buying a used 06 coupe, but because I haven't found the color combo and options I want; I figure I look into buying new especially since the G37 is about a month away and because Infiniti is currently offering pretty good rates for "well qualified buyers." Which brings me to my second question, does any one know what kind of credit score one needs, to fall into this "well qualified buyer" category? Thank you for your time. Take care everyone.
With the G37 months away there is no way you could convince me to buy a G35 coupe! They would have to give it to me for less than the Kelley Blue Book trade-in value, which they would never do. Trust me! Either put a deposit down on a G37 now or wait for 1-2 years till the G37 prices come down. If you buy that G35 right now it will loose about $10,000 of value as you drive it off the lot. When a new highly hyped model comes out the resale values of the other cars plummet! Check out the trade-in value of my 05 as it dropped when the 07 G35 sedan came out! It decreased dramatically when the 07 came out and actually increased slightly this year since the 07 sedan hype has subsided.

Wow, interesting data....this is why I am having such a hard time deciding wether or not new is a way to go, since finding a used 06 with the options and exterior/interior color has been difficult thus far. And as it was, I had a hard time deciding on spending 30k+ (average asking price) on used G35. How much did you pay for your car and did you buy new? I've put about 5% thought into a G37. I don't think it's ugly but it's not as appealing to me as the G35 exterior wise. Although, I think overall, it will do very well in sales and attract a mass of buyers like the g35 has done. But in the areas in which the G37 does not look all that good (to me), in a couple of years it will get some revisions that may make it even more appealing, even to the "Nay" sayers. Anyways I got a difficult decision to make. I had know idea it was going to be this difficult, it in the end I'm sure I will be happy with my choice. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and data.
I leased my 05 sedan new in early 06. They were practically giving the leases away. They waaaaayy over estimated the residual value of the car which means I have a really low payment. The downside is that the car is more than 15,000 miles under the allotted miles, in show room condition, and has 12 months left on the lease yet it is still worth less than the residual! I have to see the lease out but IFS will take the beating on the car when I turn it in. Look at leasing the 08 or the 07. It might be a good deal and it might not.
I would not purchase an 07 right now though. That car is guaranteed to tank in value once the 08 comes out.
