I qualify for VPP pricing, but can people generally get better deals negotiating? Im looking at leasing a 07 g35x. 36 or 39 months and 15K/yr.

Well obviously. Thats not the whole point of VPP. The point of VPP is the EASE of it. You walk in, give your VPP number and you get a price thats usually ~$200 over invoice at the end of the day. No negotiating, no drama, no problems, just ease.

But OP was not asking about how simple the VPP process is. He was asking if he can get better deal than VPP.

What more would you want?? VPP comes out to ~$200 over invoice?

Infiniti isnt regarded up to the same standards as Lexus and BMW because of people like you that nickle and dime over $200. Whats $200 over a 39 month lease?? Its $5.13 per month, get over it.

Well, I wasnt the one who was asking, and the question was "can people generally get better deals negotiating"?, not how much or how easy the process is...What is "people like me"? ...what is wrong with it, if someone wants to check if they can get lower price than VPP? or wants to save few hundren more. , of course you wont like it cus you are in car sales.

By the way, it isnt just couple hundren dollars we talking about here...I believe this persone is getting it thousand or more below invoice! How much of time and effort would it take to send out a price quote request?

By "people like you" I mean penny pinchers that make Infiniti brand almost NON-LUXURY. To be honest, its not just the penny-pinching consumer, its the stupid dealerships that allow these cars to roll off the lot with so much discount. G35's shouldn't be discounted anymore than BMW discounts their 335i.

Yes I'm in sales, but I work for the customer. I'm a broker, so I'm getting people the deals. C'mon man, $200 over invoice is a great deal and you know it! Yes, $500 under invoice is better, but everyone deserves to make a buck.

Looking at the cars you have listed in ur profile......I'm willing to bet my life you got that Steel Grey M3 for nowhere NEAR invoice

No, I called about 15 BMW dealerships in Cali, couple of dealership willing to give 500 off MSRP but that was yet, now if every or most of Infiniti dealership was doing the same? We wont have this discussion and you don’t see much of “pricing” thread over at M3 forum either, cus they all got same deals!, Its Silver Grey by the way...

Let me ask you this, if a guy walks into a dealership and says he is willing to buy a car for 500 off MSRP, what would sales ppl say? Will they say “NO’ they can not do it cus they sold to other customer for 2k off so they will give him same deal? Or will they try to make that deal seem like isn’t doable and try any possible way they could to get more from that customer?…

2003 when I looking to buy G35, there is no discount at all at 4 out 5 dealership in my area, only one is willing to give 500 off, so you would’ve think the “negotiation” process should be pain less and quick right? It can not be further from it, One, spend 2 hours cus they insist on 2k worth or extra stuffs like Lo-Jack, paint/ leather protection, while the car is on a boat somewhere over Pacific ocean and wont be in port for other 6~7 days, so it isn’t like all those stuff are on the car already and cant take them off. Two, they assure me that 6.5% interest rate was lowest they can get for me, and went back and forth for another hour or so on it, all the while I was pre-approved for 5.15%.

2005 when I was looking to buy G35 again, post a thread here and asking what some of ppl paid for their G35 at that time, what I got was around 500 over invoice, so that’s what I offered, Nope, it is impossible deal, they said , they would’ve lose lots of money if they do it, but after 5 hours back and forth? I walk away with 480 over invoice, Now, why can they just give me that when I first walk in?

They are always try to get more from you, because its their job! So I am not sure how you could come on here and faulting me or anyone else for “nickel and dime” them or simply wants “better” deal? and dragging down Infiniti’s reputation (not sure where did that come from but OK, glad to do my part), all the while it’s the dealerships and sales persons them selfs created this environment and situations where “ppl like me” needs to “nickel and dime” them.

I have never say it here or any of my posts that sales persons or dealerships shouldn’t be making money, ppl needs to decide whats fair or good deal for them self, some might think 1k off is good enough for them and they don’t want to waste more time negotaiting, I cant and will not fault them for that, by the same token, you can not faulting me for wanting to see ppl to get the best deal they can possibly get, if that is what they are asking, that bring back the question which this thread was created for, can you get better price than VPP?

Most likely yes for next couple of months, if you can get similar discounts on your own now, sure VPP pricing is great value at times, like if they offer it on G37 or first of the year, back in 04, where ppl were ordering their cars from Grubbs in Tx and ship it over because they can get 2k more off than at dealerships around them, but how many ppl are doing it last couple of years? VPP pricing is fixed price (1.65% off invoice plus deliver charge?), its same whether its in January or October, whether if its first model year or last model year, but actual market conditions do change.
