Buying a slightly modded g35

I'm looking into buying an 04 G35 coupe 6mt. It is slightly modded- front and rear sway bars, adjustable control arms, lowered on Eibach springs cold air intake, stillen exhaust- it only has 17,600 miles on it and the dealer bought it at auction after the original owner turned it into the bank because he couldn't make the payments. My mechanic checked it out today... He noticed a small amount of fishtailing when he got on the gas, and a small rightward pull when applying brakes. Other than that he felt it was in good conditon. I'd pay $24525 for the car, $26703 walk off. Should I be cautious about buying a car modded like this? How about the fishtail and rightward pull when the brakes are applied, has anyone had problems like that?

Prolly needs an alignment. As far as the fishtailing, at almost 300hp, it is not hard to lose traction.

Yea, that makes pretty good sense about the horsepower causing the fishtail, especially with extra horsepower from the exhaust and intake. But should I avoid buying a G35 that has had racing type mods, even if it only has 17000 miles?

I would say yes. The guy turned it into the bank because he couldn't make payments? That should be the first clue IMO.

Have your mechanic run a compression test. The results can help tell you if you have valve, rings, gasket, etc. issues. If the compression is low, you may want to pass.

You would say yes to what? Yes, be cautious about buying the car? Or yes, buy the car?
