Looking to Buy and Have Some Questions
Hi all,
Im looking at buying an 05 or 06 G35 Coupe and im curious about some things. First off, other than being 1 year newer whats better about an 06. Im hoping to find an all wheel drive version of one of these years, I know that they used to be called the X model, do they make an all wheel drive version for 05/06 and if so whats it called? Next, my uncle has a 03 4-door and hes been complaining recently about brake issues. What known problems do the 05/06 coupe models have that I should be looking out for in my searches? Im hoping to spend in the neighborhood of around 25K, do you think thats possible. I,ve looked on ebay and it seems like it might be. However, I live near Seattle, WA and there don't really seem to be many on ebay to close to me. While I would drive one from say Chicago home, I think the cost in fuel and overnight stays might be equal to spending another grand at a local dealership, what do you think about that?
Ive been reading through other posts and Im wondering what some terms mean,
1. Whats the Brembo package?
2. Whats the T,TT or SC package?
3. whats the aero package?
Thank you so much
Eric

I have a couple of answers for you:
All-wheel drive is only available on the sedan. And yes, the AWD version is the G35x.
The Brembo package consisted of upgraded brakes made by Brembo. It was standard equipment on the 03 and 04 6MTs. It was not available on automatic transmission cars, and it has not been available at all since 04.
T = Turbo, TT = Twin Turbo, SC = SuperCharged

It looks like the spoiler itself would be in the neighborhood of $400. Check out Everything G35.
Note that Infiniti changed the spoiler design in 06 or 07 (I forget which). The new one is smaller than the old one. Both styles are available on the web page above.
Of course, you would still have to get the spoiler installed.
If you do order it, make sure it comes with new struts (the little shocks that hold the trunk open). The trunk lid is heavier with the spoiler attached.

Brake Replacement?
Ok so I think Ive narrowed it down to an 05 or 06, on the 05 how often am I going to have to replace my brakes? My uncle tells me that on his 03 its every 22500 miles consitently, and that the 05's are better about breaks but not as good as the 06's. He mentioned to me that he cant turn the rotors on his car, they have to be replaced.
Ive narrowed everything down I guess, im just curious on the 05's and 06's and if im going to have to spend $2000 on breaks every year and a half.
Thanks
Eric
