considering a g35

Greetings everyone, this is my first post.

I'm in the market for a new car and of the cars I'm considering, the g35 is my first choice. I thought I might post some question here that I had. I've been searching through old posts to find out some info, but I still need some clarification on a few things.

First off, I'm looking to buy a used, 6MT, coupe, preferably black / gray, black interior between the years 04-06. I'm also looking to spend less than 30k, preferably somewhere in the 25-28 range.

1. While it doesn't snow a ton here in the Philadelphia area, it does once and a while. I'd imagine the car handles poorly on factory tires in the snow and that snow tires are almost a necessity. correct?

2. If I purchased a G coupe, I'd be interesting in lowering the car about an inch overall. How is the ride quality in general on 18's, 19's and 20's at the lower stance?

3. Have there been any out of the ordinary problems with the G? I've seen a few threads mentioning an oil consumption issue on earlier models, but anything really serious?

Sorry If I repeated anything, but like I mentioned, I was looking around and I still had some questions after reading old posts. Thanks for any replies, here's hoping to owning a new G in the next few weeks.

I think the oil problems were on the early rev up motors (about 2005 i think). They had a bit more horsepower but down a bit on torque. I am a torque fan so 2004 would be my perference (I own a 2004.5)
Mine is a 5sp auto. 6MT is fun but i don't think I would want to live with it if I did a lot of city driving. I also have a Cobra and enjoy paddling some of the time. I don't think I am giving much up with the manual shift ability the AT has.

Very cool cars. I am sure you will enjoy if you get one. Check out the "for sale" forum here for some leads.
