Looking to buy an '03-'04 G in Los Angeles

Hi all,

Let me introduce myself: my name is Joe and I am a technical writer for Nissan Sport Magazine. I have been driving my '70 240Z as a daily driver for the last eight years and it is time (according to my girlfriend) that I moved up to something with air conditioning, air bags, power steering.... you get the idea. At least she doesn't want me to get rid of the Z

I am looking at 2003-04 G coups and want to buy instead of lease (I am trying to line myself up for a GT-R this Fall and don't want to be stuck in a lease). Also, I want to design some brake coolers (www.fourproducts.com) for the G and Z cars and so having one will make that easier. I looked into this before, and I am pretty sure that they (along with the Altima) run the same calipers (except the Brembo cars).

What do I need to look out for in the 2003-04 G cars? I am in the Pasadena CA area and looking for an automatic with under 60k miles and under $18k. Any of you have a good place for me to look? Any of you have one for sale?

I can be contacted at yahoo with the name jrdscl2006

Thanks!!!!

Joe

Thanks for the offer, but I am interested in something more local. Good luck selling it though.

My new project vehicle

OK, Found and bought one for $18,500 - got an incredible deal. I love it. Now I am going to design some brake coolers for the G35 and 350Z. As an '04 it has the standard brake issues the early models had. If someone can point me to a good thread about the subject, I would appreciate it. Then I will be working with my brake cooler distributor, Brake Horsepower Corporation, to try and resolve the brake issues as well as design the brake coolers. Look for more info in some of the upcoming issues of Nissan Sport Magazine.

Congrats on you recent purchase. Not sure what brake issue you are referring to, but the issue I experienced with brakes besides tons of dust? was only premature wearing on the stock pads and rotors, which was easy fix by switching to aftermarket pads and rotors after the 36/36k miles warranty.

I guess you will have to subscribe to Nissan Sport to see what I am talking about :-) J/K the brake issues I am referring to are the excessive wear to pads and rotors as well as the nose bleed I get every time I try to simply tap the brakes to slow down. No new news to anyone with a G35 from those years....
