buying a wheel set, help me prevent making a mistake today

So today im buying a wheel- tire set. I have a 2006 G35 Coupe. The wheels i am looking at are as follows:
20" Black Machine Boss Wheels. 5-4.5
Fullrun tires 245/35/20
Offset: 38

I have looked around and cant really find any pictures of this set up. How will it look? What do i need to make it look decent? Any help is greatly appreciated

heres my take on 20's - for a coupe at least.
theyre big and heavy. Thats a given. especially for the brand you have chosen (which i would also advise against) but moving on...also tire brand isnt great either.

offsets are a little high as well. in fact higher than what our stock wheels come with.
What are the widths of the wheels themselves? "5-4.5" sounds like you said their lip sizes backwards lol

This was my setup with 20" VSXX. Unless youre lowered a good bit, the car will look like it's on it's toes.

i considered going lower, but i took one drive around the block, hated the wheels, and sold them lol.

I believe the width is 8.5. Sorry that was what was next to the tire spec -_- So dont do it? or is there any way to make it work to look presentable? I dont think I want to lower my **** here in chicago esp with the winter coming, 1 pot hole and its a wrap.

8.5 all around? so 20x8.5+38 square. Theyre hardly even sedan specs man. youre going to want to go wider in the rear- at VERY least a 9.5

if youre not lowering the car, youre going to be even higher than how you sit now putting the 20s on.
what wheels are on your car now? the stock 19's?

The potholes should concern you more regarding wheel quality imo. i rather scrape all day instead of having a cast wheel catastrophically give out while driving

Those stock 19s are probably the lightest and cheapest forged set you can have on the car. They're a great wheel, look great and with some spacers you can make them a bit more flush for cheap.
Glad you saved some money today

20/25mm H&R spacers
No fender roll needed either

man your car on the 20s looks ideal in my opinion, it sits so perfect. Was it the quality of the ride that made you sell them or what?

trust me. from head on it was just weird looking. very "tall"
wheels are super heavy, and just made the car look bloated imo. 18-19" only imo.

Where in Chicago are you? I'm from the Jefferson Park area.
I ran both G35 and G37 stock 19s in the winters up there without issue.
Everything JT has said so far has, surprisingly, been on point. 20s are mostly for form over function and are really overdone.
Search for those OEM Rays, craigslist and the Marketplace will become good friends of yours. I'm personally biased against 18s just because it takes away the sporty aspect and looks of the car but if it's for winter it is understandable.
As stated above, stay away from that tire brand. Stick with names like Michelin, Continental, BFG, Bridgestone...etc

that would be better width wise,^ theres a set right now of volk gts and sf challenges on facebook for 1800. real, high end wheels- a lot of times with tires.
youll prob spend around the same money either way.
