Friend wants to buy my lease - how?
Guys,
My lease is up next month and a friend has decided he really wants my car. My payoff value is $21,700 and the KBB value is around $23,500. I was all set to just turn it in at the end of May, but he's willing to give me a little more than my payoff, and save me from having to go through the inspection and possibly replacing my front tires.
My question is - what's the best way to go about this? Can he secure financing for a private party sale before I have the title? I don't want to take out a loan or pay nearly 22k out of pocket, then turn around and sell it if I can avoid it. Anyone out there done this and have any info on the best way to go about this?
thanks,
Viral

Have him get you a check for the amount (doesn't matter how).
Cash that check, and write a check for the payoff to Infiniti. Give Infiniti Financial Services a call, and let them know you're selling the car privately BEFORE returning your lease.
