possible g35 owner

What's up eveyone? New member here with some questions regarding a purchase. I've found a 03 6mt with 77k miles on it. They want 17700 for it, its equipped with everything but the navigation system. According to nada guides its worth low end of 14500. I've watched this car for the last 2 months sit on the lot and the price jump to 19900. That much of a jump leads me to believe that they are asking too much and they know it. Does going up there and talking them down to 14500 seem too much. Plus with that kind of miles, is there anything I should be leary of as far as preventative maintenance? Also, the headlights have some oxidixation and the driver's seat has a very very small hole in the corner of the seat near the base of the lumbar support. Thanks for everyones input.

Yeah, I would definitely talk them down from their sticker price. I'm thinking $16k, or less.. But that is just my opinion, plus I have not seen the vehicle. Have you checked www.autotrader.com yet? The best way to work them down is just to show them print out's of other deals that you can get (other cars with less mileage, etc).

I'm not sure what area you are from, but here's a listing of 6mt's (2003-2005) from autotrader with a max price of $17,700k.

Good luck with the search, man!

I've looked on autotrader.com for a few months and within a 200 mile radius there is only 6 G35 that are coupes with 6mt. Now I know that I've seen some with almost the same miles for less, but I would have to drive 158 miles to look it over. If I didn't like it then I'm SOL. I live in South Carolina. About 90 miles from Charlotte NC. But I'm looking for a dealer not just a consumer too. Your input was great and I believe I will print out some of the cars I've found and take those to the dealer and see what they can do with lowering the price.

The car was not in good shape for that price. The rear bumper had been repainted due to the previous owner knocking a hole in it. The bumper had so much orange peel and fish eyes that it looked like a 15 y\o face. I even heard a rear end whine. Sounded like a bad shim on the gears. Even though I had some ads with me for cars that had 3k less milage for 14500 they really didn't want to come down on the price. So I left. Simple as that. So my search is still going.
