Wanting to buy G35 - question about compression test; repairs at nissan dealer
(All prices and figures below are in Canadian)
I called the nearest Infinite dealer (200 kms away), about getting the 160 point inspection done to a used G35 I'm looking at buying, as mentioned on the website here: http://www.infiniti.ca/en/general/pr...ification.html
The service representative said they don't "have" a 160 point inspection... they can do a service check which includes an oil change for $150...
Also I asked how much for a compression test, and he said $250... "It's hard to get the spark plugs out"
Is that a normal price?... Volkswagen does a compression test for $120, plus $20 for every extra pair of cylinders.
If the infinite dealer doesn't 'have' a thorough inspection, what are my options? I'm no mechanic... I'm trying to do the right thing here, and buy a solid car, but don't have any real way to do so it seems. (I live in Brandon, Manitoba, and the dealer in question is located in Winnipeg, Manitoba).
I also just read someone else's question about getting warranty work done at a Nissan dealer, and I called my local and they said the same thing as mentioned - they won't do work under warranty, but will work on them otherwise.
My question is, are Nissan dealers ok for working on G35's? Can they be trusted?
Thanks very much!

160-point Inspection
Every Certified Pre-Owned Infiniti must be in prime condition and pass a 160-point inspection. All significant components of the vehicle are scrutinized.
