Hi I am new to the G Coupe. Had couple of questions
Hi all
I really like the G Coupe and am planning on buying a used 2006 model.
I think it is a sweet spot between having 1yr of manufacturer's warranty vs not being too old. I am not planning on changing much from a stock car. I just want to enjoy a sporty coupe for now.
I had a couple of questions.
1) I noticed that there are not many Athens Blue models in this forum or even on the roads. Is this colour not as popular? I am wondering if the resale value or used value is generally lower due to this colour
2) One dealer i spoke to said that the wheels on the G coupe are very highly sought after by thieves. Is this true? Are there frequent cases where thieves steal the wheels?
3) I test drove and saw a Athens Blue 06 with low 15k miles. It was priced very aggressively by the dealer at USD 21.8k. It seems that most 06 models from the dealers are running at high 22s to low 24s.
The car has a small ding on the right door, slight paint loss on the left view mirror and scrapes under the front of the hood. The tires were worn down though. If tires are worn down after 15+miles, does that mean the car was driven very aggressively? I noticed just to the right of the front infiniti logo, (below the infiniti logo but above the license plate.. along the edge if you know what i mean, there was sort of a 4-6inch budge showing through the front bumper. The budge looks as if the front bumper was pushed in just slightly showing the budge which resembles a 3inch long by 3/8inch radius. The part around the budge was not crack or anything. There was none of this budge along the front of the bumper. I wonder what caused it
4) I also saw another black on black 06 G 35 Coupe, 25k miles, no navigation but new tires selling for 22985usd.
5) It seems that dealers all seem to now have this "no haggle policy".
They don't even want to entertain any requests or talk about lowering the price.
Either I look like the type who would pay or they just dont negotiate or the profit margin is low for used cars.
Both cars are all clean according to carfax.
Thank you for all your help.
I look forward to learning more from this community.

1) it's not as common, but I don't think it lowers your resale value. I think its a nice color.
2) never heard this or any members reporting their OEM wheels stolen.
3) sounds high for the condition
4) i'd go lower
5) a lot of dealers are trying to get rid of cars since they are having trouble moving them. Negotiate harder and if u don't get a good price go somewhere else. Take your time and get what you really want and get it at the right price.

Perhaps my description of the car condition was abit extreme. The blue car is in overall great condition except for that one paint loss (2mm x 2mm area. very small) and that ding and some scraps under the front hood (which could be due to compacted snow?)
as for the wheels getting stolen, the wheels are the infiniti wheels that come stock with the 06model.
i forgot to mention that the blue colour is with an ivory interior..
thank you

AB is a great color but there's not as many on the street as other colors
like silver. If you pay that kinda $ for an '06 don't let it leave the dealership
unless it's rolling on new tires and all the dings/scratches are fixed. Those
'06 19" wheels are not on great demand, but taken care of they look great.
How says, you can't haggle? If you do your homework when you buy the
car you want you'll know what they're selling for. Always get a CARFAX and
never buy from the "corner dealer" they deal in junk or cars the dealerships
wouldn't sell for some reason....junk yard dogs or high mileage worn out cars.

hi gary
thank you for your email. the dealer is one of the biggest around here.
the "problem" is that there are no other online prices i can bring to the table to negotiate coz the price of the car is aggressive.
i can only talk about the tire wear.
why is it everyone seems to talk about 06models having 19inchers. i thought the stock was 17inches...
how can the dealer remove dings and scatches? (noobie here)
do i ask them to polish the scratches down and use some suction device to pull out that one ding i saw?
thanks
