Financing through dealer vs. cash?
I'm looking at a car on a dealers website and I called them.
They said the only way to get the shown price is to finance it through the dealership.
They won't let me pay cash for it.
Can I "finance" it and somehow pay it all off without having to pay interest? Thanks

I would say that if you did have to finance to get the price, just make sure there's no early payment penalty, as sometimes can happen with loans I believe. Then if there isn't, just pay it off as soon as you like/can, and you'll avoid the majority of that interest as well.
I "financed" my car when I bought it. I put down like 10k, then came back 2 days later and paid the rest of the balance off. Same thing, they said to get a price I had to finance it so I did, and I read the contract to ensure no early repayment penalty or anything.

Thanks for the responses.
Here's the deal. They said if I finance, it's $14.8k. If I pay cash, it's $15.9k.
I assume they're making money off interest (8% w/ almost perfect credit) and they must have an early payment fee (I forgot to ask).
I was going to do what pattyskin said, put half down and pay the rest a few days later.
Anyone have any idea how much the early payment fees usually are?
JaxG, that's exactly what I thought. The car has been on there lot for almost one year. I was thinking to just bring a $14.8k check and say that't the final deal.
If this was a local dealership, I probably would have this all figured out.
Problem is, they're 2.5hrs away and I don't want to waste my time if they won't give me the right price.
