How long did it take you to find your 6MT?
2 weeks. autotrader. Had to drive 300 miles to LA, and risk missing my ride to Vegas for no reason if the car wasn't clean. I got it though, and it was worth the wait, which wasn't much, and effort to get the exact one I wanted. I saw a bunch of other super clean G's that didn't have black interior or a 6mt and I passed on everyone of them.
Still looking. I actually did manage to find a 6MT with the exact color and options a couple weeks ago, but I couldn't get the dealership to come down on the price. I knew going in that the fact that they had an '06 with 50k miles listed for $27k was a bad sign, but the car was just so nice I had to go in and see how flexible they would be on the price. I offered 20k and they wouldn't even come close to that, so I had to walk out of there. Really sucks because the car is still sitting there, and probably will for quite a while.
started looking for cars in late december. The G was always in my top 5, but never my top. One day in Imid April, I randomly searched on Craigslist for a G (don't remember why). Found it that day, saw and tested it that night/week and bought it the next week. Previous to that, I was mostly searching for IS350s, but couldnt' find one with any decent options for a reasonable price. Got my fully loaded '07 6MT G35S Sedan for $26,5.
I bought mine in September of 2008, I was initially looking for an EVO or STI but my brother-in-law decided to sell his 2003 6-Speed Coupe with Brembo brakes, he was the original owner and took really good care of it, I remember picking it up from the dealership with him back in 2003, took him a good 2 or 3 months to find the exact one he wanted. He also installed an HKS Exhaust, PowerLab plenum spacer, and Injen cold air intake a month or two before I bought it, $16k and 72,000 miles on it, couldn’t pass it up, especially since I knew the history of the car.
Too funny. The day I agreed to buy my G, I had just come back from the Subaru dealer from where they ordered me a new STI. I backed out of that verbal deal and took a second look at the G and agreed to buy it right there.
I was galldarn fussie it took 2 yrs...to find mine with low mileage of course i got a good deal on it cuz the american economy ****d up the world economy and everything went for a sh^t and i pounced on it like a cat on a mouse...
Ha-ha, I was so close to pulling the trigger on a 2004 STI but I didn’t go down to Tucson (2 hours south of Phoenix) to see the car the weekend I initially planned and the same weekend my brother in law told me he’d sell the car to me for a nice price, so I canceled the STI search and went with the G coupe.
took me about 2-3 hours, originally i was looking to get another Z but someone keep insisting i get a G, so i called the dealer and asked if they have it, they said heck yeah come on down i said ok, test drove it, liked it, about maybe 2 hours and some minutes later signed the dotted lines and bamm out the door. easiest car purchase ive ever done in my life
