Hypothetically looking to buy 06 6MT

So what I mean by hypothetically, I mean literally hypothetically looking to buy an 06 6MT I found on Craigslist. A 2006 Athens Blue 6MT G for 17K with 80k miles on it, which I think is a pretty good deal but throw in negotiations and what not, maybe get it for around 16K?

http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/ctd/1488648461.html

So here's my deal. Bear with me here. I used to drive an 07 Sentra given to me by my stepfather as a birthday/graduation present in April of 07(I originally wanted the Altima but always loved the G). I've had it all the way up to this past Sunday 12/5 when I woke up to the loudest crash I've ever heard sleeping at my girlfriend's house. Sounded like a garbage truck colliding with a parked vehicle going 40mph. I immediately jumped out of my bed and thought of my car because I parked on the street. My gf runs out to check and comes back in with a grim look to her face.."your bumper..." then I run outside to check on my car and this is what I see..

Apparently the kid(who looked to be around 18 or 19) fell asleep at the wheel, side-swiped my car, totaled the side and my bumper..then collided with the xb that was parked in front of me in the back and completely demolished that before coming to a stop. After I ran outside, my first reaction of course, "What the F***?!!" and the kid turns to me "Don't worry man I got insurance!" (what a sigh of relief). After all the filing of the police report and what not, the tow truck driver approaches me and asks me if it was my car, I said yes. He then said "total loss man..(shaking his head)" I kinda figured it was, given that my car isn't worth much (13K at most) and the amount of damage. Long story short, I'm trying to get myself a G or get insurance money to get another car (my dad's 04 TL or a G hopefully) But I have to deal with insurance and all of that first and I would greatly appreciate any and all input you guys might have on the G I'm looking at or my situation. Also, any tips on dealing with insurance to get the most out of them. Thanks so much for looking at my post and taking your time to read it all.

80k is alot of miles dude. and for 17 grand that seems a bit high too. i just bought my G last week which is an 05 with 22xxx miles for $18500 fully loaded with nav except the spoiler before taxes. but that was like an insane deal. but keep looking it takes time to find the right one for the right price. i've been looking for a couple of years so yeah

oh yeah for sure I won't be paying 17K for that kind of mileage on a G. I know I can negotiate but that's way down the line if anything. I will keep looking but gotta deal with insurance first =/

Thats too much for that kind of mileage. Total loss would be good. You get money for a diff. car.
