$29,500+++ for a new G37 09
Is this the time to buy or should I wait until 2010 and see what happens to the 09s
or is too much of a gamble that the 09s will be sold out and the 2010s will be way more money, with far less incentive
I am being offered "invoice" -$3500
the MSRP is $35,700
the question is when the 2010 hit in a month, will the 09s be worth even less? They are already coming with $3500 incentive. Which is really high compared to other luxury brands.
plus 2010 comes standard with a bunch of prem stuff I do not want so the MSRP will probably be $$$ more. I'm sure they're not making money on it but at the same time how desperate are they to move these cars? Are they willing to LOSE money?

My friend recently bought an 09 G37 Sedan with the sports package for $3500 below invoice which was about 31,500. Sticker price on it was about $39,000. There isn't much 2009 inventory left from what I saw. I would go with the big incentive on the 09 right now. Chances are that the 2010 models wont have much of an incentive and they definitely wont be selling at invoice.
i'm being offered $29,000+++ as of yesterday
my friend said he read somewhere on edmunds it's a $4500 incentive now.. Not sure where he found it but is it true?

The G's have had pretty decent resale value, even the 08 sedans didn't take a huge hit when the 09 came out with a 3.7. I doubt a new bumper and other minor changes will kill the value of your 09.
yeah a $35,000 car isn't expensive...
I dont' want to save money up front if it means losing residual value as soon as next year's face lift shows up in a few days and having to drive an outdated shape.. it's counter productive
and i'm trying to get a great deal which means not losing any money when you drive the car off the lot. Which is impossible even in a recession apparently. Once these cars go on "sale" it's not really a "sale" you are just paying what the cars are worth as soon as new models come out.
2009 trade in is about $29,500 in excellent condition and no miles to speak of. Jan 2009 they were trading in at $33,000 with a $35,000 msrp. So you really get what you pay for. Of course, those trade in values are based if you buy a NEW car at MSRP. Try getting a big discount on a new car and you'll be lucky to get $25,000 for an 09 in excellent condition.
I'm going to go in and make an offer.. See how low they'll go.

You asked for 29000+++ and you got it. I can also give you first and second service at no charge. As far as a better price, you need to be here in the showroom to make an offer. When can you come?

You're spending 29, not 35. Either way, its not an expensive car.
It costs about the same as a comparably equipped impala, or malibu...... I don't think those have ever been considered expensive cars.
Unless you're gonna drive it for a year and trade it in (which it doesn't sound like since you think its an expensive car) you're really just stressing yourself out over nothing. Who cares what its worth a year from now or right when you drive it off the lot if you're gonna drive it for 3 -5 years?
Good luck at the dealership. I'm sure you wont regret buying the car, especially at that price.

I finally folded for $29,000+++
I went to another dealership but they wouldn't go less than $30,000+++ and it wasn't the color i wanted so I went back again.. 8 hrs later I finally have my new g37 in black/stone!
I wanted to just leave and wait until the 4th, that's when the new incentives start happening but my dealership sold 5 cars in teh 3 hours I was there so why risk someone buying one of the last few base models to save a few $$$... Considering they had dozens of g37 sedans and coupes with prem/nav and sports package... MSRP $40-$42,000 they offered me for $31-33,000+++. I don't need any of that crap and I would still end up paying more for crap I don't need or want (blue tooth, navigation, heated seats,etc.)
If I could have bought a model without moonroof I probably would have but all they had left were Journeys w/moonroof and it didn't look like I would get any better than $29,000+++ and it doesn't look like the dealers in my area desperate for my business.
$30,000+ is considered expensive... if it weren't everyone would drive a BMW or Infiniti but 90% of the population drive beat up altima 2.5s and civics unless you are from the suburbs in NJ or NYC, there is no question new G37s are considered expensive cars. But i degress...
