03 G35 Coupe for under $10K with 133K miles good deal?
03 G35 Coupe for under $10K with 133K miles good deal?
Hey all!
G35 noob here and while I'd have no problem driving a car with 133K miles on it, is that a dangerous place to start? Will a dealership/carfax prove if the timing chain has been done yet? Does anyone know the clutch/trans average lifespan?
For that matter as i continue my search has any consistent pattern shown up regarding mileage and problems?
Thanks in advance

with a 10k budget you are probably going to be looking only at cars with over 100k miles, which is not much overall for these cars.
no....if you know the dealerhip(s) it was serviced at they may release the records to you of what THEY did on the car.
that varies greatly depending on driving habits....it could last anywhere from 20k -200k+ miles. My last car had 170k on the original and it was still going when i sold it. Regardless you should figure on some repair expenses for a car with that many miles.

Thanks redwillow!
Actually ideally i'd like to be in the $12.5 K range with better mileage and less options (sun/moonroof, power seats is actually a demerit in my book) but with g35's near luxury class its hard to get the sporty stuff without a bunch of creature comforts and the prices hangout around 15-16K
So i was surprised when i saw any 03 for under 10 with a 6MT no less
I'd get a 350Z but i need a back seat for emergency kid transport
RE: driving habits are the clutches/trans finicky? A different 03 i test drove had a fairly stiff clutch and its synchromesh seemed a little tired, but rev matching isn't too hard and the test drive was short
thanks again
