looking at a couple of Gs this weekend

So I'm heading up to Boston this weekend and I'm going to make a couple of stops along the way to look at a couple Gs i found.

They're both basically the same car
car 1: 2007 g35x, 73k miles, asking $18,995.
car 2: 2007 g35x, 71800 miles, asking $18,200
I know those prices are a little so i'm going to trying to bring them down 2K.

My question to you guys is if there is anything specific i should look for or check?
Any thing in particular i should ask?

From what I've found and read there isn't a distinct weak point to check, but i figure i might as well ask you guys since you know best.

Thanks guys

those prices do seem on the high end to me, but i'll admit i'm not really too familiar with what awd ones go for.

You should NOT rely solely on carfax report to indicate if the car has been wrecked or repaired. Only some insurance co's report to them and not everything shows up on those reports....they will never show damage that was repaired out of pocket.

I would ask for a paint meter reading of the body panels to verify things....and look at the underside, jambs, and body lines for signs of colission repair.

Are you dead set on a 07? I've been looking at 05-06s for quite some time. You can find 06Xs fully loaded, with 20-30K less miles than what you found and still under factory warranty (allbeit not for too long.)

You should ask the dealership to run the VIN and see if they have any service records (assuming the vehicle was taken to an infiniti dealership)

Also, you should get it inspected from a mechanic or a 3rd party company.

unfortunately i'm set on the 07. I just prefer the new generation better.

Both cars were good. Each had minor exterior damage, and interior wear. Car 1 has had it's front bumper replaced and Car 2 has had it's rear bumper replaced. Both cars have clean carfax though. They're both one owner who leased them for 3 years. The only difference between the two is one has black leather, the other tan. I'm planning on looking at car 2 again next week to have them put it up on the lift so i can take a look and then talk numbers. It's probably going to come down to who can give me the best deal since both cars are so similar.

hi,
i live in MA, bought my 08g35x a month ago. those prices are about right for this area. given the winters around here, x's are in high demand. if you can get those cars for $16 or $17k, then that's a decent deal. check out bournes.com i bought my G from them, they are good to deal with, and put all their autochecks online with the car posting.

good luck
